Not sure I would call Gruene Hall a roadhouse. More of a dance hall. Great place though.

"He was kind of like an especially naughty and kind of bitchy dog."

I gotta add my vote for Passing Strange. One of the best musicals out there.

I really think heroes should have been the anthology series the creators intended it to be. It would have solved all of their problems if each season was about different characters in the same world.

There is a tradition among crime shows to let real world implications slide. The British did a study a few years back on the classic detective show "Midsomer Murders". If all the murders had been real, sleepy Oxfordshire would have been the murder capital of the world by far (per capita).

I am not sure why, but even when I recognize that an episode is not very good, I still enjoy this show more than just about anything else on TV right now.

Agreed, although I did like how he subverted his macho filmmaker image with his scene in Four Rooms.

That movie created an iconic shortcut for me and my friends. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard a Type A person described as "Reese Witherspoon from Election."

Miller's Crossing is one of those films I always seem to forget how good it really is, only to be blown away by it again and again.

I hated Amistad, it really is Spielberg at his worst, but that scene (if it is the one you are talking about) has haunted me ever since. Done almost entirely without dialogue or narration, it delivered a powerful message about what slavery and freedom really mean, and how there is always one final choice that cannot

I remember being disappointed by Mr. Memory when I was a kid. Even then, it felt contrived and anticlimactic— a cheat of the worst kind. Of course, by that time I was well into the loner detectives of Hammett and Chandler, and the 39 Steps book was closer to that feeling.

I made the mistake of reading the book first. They did more than make changes to "open it up", they completely changed the characters and plot.
