Here is where one of the main problems start. Where did you get your information on Casein? I am not saying it is not possible, but how strong is the link to cancer? How risky is it compared to bone loss in older people?

I am kind of on both sides in this debate. I like to cook and have my own herb garden, but live in backwoods southern culture.

So, so true. I remember thinking at the moment of the 'cave rave' that this was one of the stupidest things I had ever seen. It lost all its grounding at that moment. It lost any sense of maturity and became only a fourteen year old fanboy's fantasy.

I happen to be old enough to remember when they colorized Casablanca. It obviously didn't hold up, not because of the crappy color, but because the film uses the monochromatic conventions. It needs the contrast of his white jacket along with the shadow play, etc.

I am going to say "yes" with one caveat.

I agree. I am a photographer and there is a similar debate going on in this field (for the same reasons). Essentially, modern technology has made it easier to put the 'polish' on visual media whether design, photography, or moving images.

It makes good business sense, just bad PR/customer relations.

I don't understand the PG edits. I believe the silent sex was much more disturbing than it would have been with sound.

I read that so wrong. I thought they left out part of the headline. To me it read "Has Plans to Publish a Memoir".

I dislike reality TV in general, but understand the appeal of competition shows. I think what the AVclub likes about this one is the simplicity. As they said, you have to take a judges word/ opinion about whether someone cooks/designs/businesses well, but in shooting, you see it for yourself. No opinion necessary.

So with you. Most reality TV is idiots being rewarded for being idiots.

Dammit. I guess real time posts doesn't work as well as it should. I feel foolish now.

About British TV…

Dude, silverlight is totally a chinese hacking program. Don't do it! They will take control of your computer and turn on your camera without you knowing it. I don't know about you, but I have enough to worry about. I don't need some damn chinaman watching me jerkoff.

I will not take advice from someone who uses the term 'hot new releases'.

The difference is, I didn't spend $5 for on demand because that is too much for my budget. I couldn't justify it then, and I won't justify it now. I joined Netflix because it was a bargain. That bargain is disappearing, so is my enthusiasm for it.

@ pissed off engineer- Debunking is what science is all about. The reason you understand that Gould 'faked' experiments is that you have read some scientist's own assessment of his science.

Oh yeah, then there is this. Only tangentially related.

Not Funny.
Saw his show a few years ago. I ended up walking out after half an hour. Every song sounded the same. Not particularly melodic. Nothing but verbal diarrhea. Density of words does not make you deep or funny. Spoken word in between songs sucked. Like he was 'educating' us on why the songs were funny and why

Emotional content
I am still back and forth on how much I like this show, but every episode has at least one very emotionally resonating moment— moments that could be really overplayed (and maybe are). Usually these moments are seemingly out of character or played quietly. Tonight it was the little moment with Finn
