CHUCKTOWN GEORGE IS GETTING UPSET. (listens to Iron and Wine.) Chucktown George is now calm, pensive.

"Sun Kil Moon pretty much sounds like the Red House Painters"

Never mind a favorite off Mermaid Avenue; Remember the Mountain Bed is one of the more perfect songs I've ever heard. The poem itself is a masterwork, and the music complements it so ideally that it's hard to believe the two components were written some 40 years apart. I often wonder whether Tweedy had that full-verse

When reached for comment, Young's elderly parents replied, "The Governor's Ball security guard should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie?"

Anyone go to a Ryan Adams concert in the mid 2000s? It was like Rocky Horror. Tons of dudes dressed up exactly like Ryan Adams. Still have a friend who won't let that era go…

I didn't enjoy Wit's End as much as Catacombs, which I loved
Oh shit, are we allowed to talk about the matter at hand here? Either way, looking forward to checking this out.

Yeah, agreed with Panicking. Their last album was one of the worst I heard that year.

Gooch: What I meant was, even for Ian…I've seen the band 3 times, and only this last time was Ian the way I described…complete lack of interest, never took his eyes off the ground, never said a word to anyone (band or on mic), never moved, just looked like someone who'd given up. We talked to Jimmy a bit after and

Did Jeremy produce Yonder Is the Clock as well? If so, I saw him with them once. The last two times I saw them, they had some guy who basically kept time and that was about it. It served some of their older stuff well enough, but again, the CF drumming is quite a bit more ambitious so good to know they've got someone

Thanks for the suggestions, Gooch. Will check that out.

Simone now has his own project, "The Duke and the King". I was pretty geeked for that album as he'd written some of my favorite FB tracks—namely "Don't Wake the Scarecrow". But man, I thought that Duke and King album was pretty awful for the most part.

Excellent review
I was just coldcocked by how good this record is. I am a fan of the band, but I didn't think they were capable of something like this.

Each to their own of course. I find the FF's abilities staggering, not to mention their ability to recreate it (even improve upon it) live—and I think they also don't depend on cliches—musical and lyrical—without it getting too cluttered or abstract. I see why they've already established themselves as a bona fide

Interesting. I could certainly see the potential for this—they have "broad appeal" written all over them.

"These guys are infinitely more interesting than Fleet Foxes"

Also I like AnCo. :(

Those are actually interesting responses in their unanimity, but I gotta stand by my opinion. And I wasn't even a huge Dr. Dog fan going in. I probably listened to THATH's album more in the month leading up than any Dr. Dog, so I was sort of expecting to be on your side of the fence.

Couldn't agree more.
It's funny, when Pitchfork reviewed this yesterday, they bashed it too, but you just never know with them. Do they just hate it because it's not Animal Collective?

Eddie V jumped the, shaaarrk today!
*to tune of Jeremy if that wasnt obvious*
