I'm pretty sure Katherine compelled that guy. She probably knows what's going on all the time, lurking in the shadows.

Daphne was dating Bay's ex-boyfriend, Bay started dating Daphne's friend. It's not the same thing. Just because Daphne has decided to change her mind now, doesn't mean Bay crossed any line. Same with Ty. On the other hand, Daphne trying to ruin her friend's relationship, jerk move right there.
