Also, it hasn't been that detrimental. S5 winner Jeanine was a non-entity even during the Top 20 announcement show. So while it's certainly strange for the footage to be cut that way, if dancers know how to play the game, they'll still shine

not a spoiler… hopefully. In the books, it's established that Varys knows many of the secret tunnels around the castle, and there's an entrance to the Hand's room that way. 
So Shae is able to go into Tyrion's room with almost no witnesses. I guess the show just didn't find enough time to mention that
