I think it depends on how they play the unveiling of the Top 20. Most seasons they do a bit of a recap for each person in the Green Mile that shows more of how they did in Vegas.
They could also jump straight into the 'know your top 20" thing they do where they announce five people and then they immediately dance as

Fosse-style numbers would be great for that. With, as you mention, an actual Broadway choreographer.

I think it depends on the show. As Todd mentions, if there are certain grooves that a show repeatedly hits it can be too easy to get tired of the show when trying to binge watch, and I'll end up not wanting to watch for a while.
