Flagged for suggesting Jessica Jones is in any way inferior to Arrow. Like comparing Friday Night Lights to One Tree Hill.

3-4 years seems like an excessive amount of time to give someone to get good at his job. And the people saying "well it's not like Stewart was national treasure straight out of the gate" that's a bit like saying you can't ever blame the Apple CEO for falling profits since when Steve Jobs started as CEO they didn't

Except just as Jon Stewart gradually moved the show away from that kind of comedy, it seems like Trevor Noah is gradually moving it back.

Bet you anything you never watched Beyond the Lights. I'd be surprised if you even saw Selma.

I always thought Margaret was basically a post 9/11 allegory, with the bus crash as 9/11 and Anna Paquin as America. But I don't know if watching it like that will you like it more, her character's still very annoying.

I never like it when people go "lol white people" and act all righteous about not watching worthy and critically acclaimed movies. Unless you're also skipping all the superhero movies and blockbusters starring white people you should just admit you think this movie sounds boring. It's not so much of a brave stand

The sandwich board bit was how he met Samuel L Jackson's character and their whole relationship was pretty racially charged, it makes sense that it was introduced that way. Plus it adds instant depth to SLJ's character that despite his "fuck whitey" stance throughout the film he was willing to stick his neck out for a

Hilarious line in that review, shows how long ago 2008 was:

"artists have passion, and passion comes from suffering, and that girl has never suffered a day in her life."

There's a reason those EC comics are only 10 pages long though. Only so much time you can spend with one note douchebags.

It is true, so you should amend your original post and scratch that last line. Have some integrity man.

Most of that is your stupid opinion which you are entitled to (you dummy), but if you're saying Fury Road is a lazy cash grab that's just wrong. It was a huge 20 year fight for Miller to get the movie made and it sounds like they were near death shooting it out in the desert. Clearly the thing was a labour of love.

Kinda wish Vince Gilligan would leave this show for someone else to run and go do something new. It's okay, but it's always going to be in the shadow of Breaking Bad and isn't really worthy of his talents. At the moment it feels like if Altman instead of making Nashville and the Long Goodbye just worked on the MASH tv

The past five years ≠ ever

Nothing brings out the cranky old man in me than the "when will Leo get his oscar?" crap. Pacino didn't win for 2 Godfathers, Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon. Paul Newman didn't win until the 80s. Henry Fonda didn't win until the 80s too, when he was absolutely ancient. Cary Grant, Kirk Douglas and Montgomery Clift

I don't like Julie Burchill either, but you've got serious ideological blinders on if you can't admit that's a good diss.

I think the C is cause the reviewer really doesn't like Chris Hemsworth, I suspect for high school trauma related reasons.

There really should be a "Most Missed" or "Biggest Loss" here for Harris Wittels.

Wow, someone annoyed that the headline of an internet article isn't clickbaity enough, that's a first.

Repulsion is a movie about rape, but it's very much anti-rape, so the fact that Polanski is a rapist doesn't help you understand the movie at all. In fact the opposite, all it does it show how pointless it is to try and conflate a director's personality with the films they make. You can't square the great feminist
