New Girl's alright, but I feel like since Community and Parks aren't generating the same fervour they used to the Av Club is trying to artificially whip up way more excitement about the show than it deserves. Every other article is "New Girl is amazing! It's the best thing ever! Don't you love it?! Don't you want to

There's a DVD extra of Malcolm and the other Scottish guy critiquing There Will be Blood that makes me wish they had a Beavis and Butthead style show where they watched movies and sweared at them.

I call bullshit, no man who watches more Broadway shows than television would ever refer to himself as a "dude".

It seems odd that they didn't just cast Andy Dwyer to play this obvious Andy Dwyer surrogate. I wonder was it originally intended to be a spin off, since they were setting up stuff about Andy joining the police force.

All the people who used to hate Vampire Weekend have worn themselves out hating Lena Dunham. Maybe they were working together all along! The old rope a dope!

I feel these grumpy old fucks deserve to be trolled back. SGT. PEPPERS IS OVERRATED!

Boy, I hope I never get so hard and cynical that the idea of James Spader basically playing Hannibal Lector doesn't sound cool to me. This can be goofy and stupid as anything and I'll watch at least the first season.

You realise that Better Off Ted was already a recycling of Andy Richter Controls the Universe? I don't know why he expects an audience to care about a former sitcom star saving one measily planet when they didn't care about a former talk show sidekick controlling the entire universe.

I've noticed a trend that on any Av Club music related article at least 40% of the comments are people bragging about how they don't even care about this music at all.

You're still watching ads? How are things in 1995 Gramps? Is everybody doing The Rachel and singing about Nelson Mandela?

I feel that Louie is going to inspire countless untalented people to make their own terrible imitation "it's just real simple and stripped down and every scene is all about me". It's the tv show equivalent of Bon Iver making that album out in the woods.

I thought he was dead, and the writer of the Bourne books (that guy is dead, right?) I also thought The Spy Who Came in From the Cold was one of the ones with Michael Caine as the down to earth James Bond. I'm pretty shocked to find all these were written by different people.

NBC do know quality though, don't they? They're in last place in the ratings and their Thursday night line up is a disaster because they've put on shows like 30 Rock, Community, and Parks and Recreation.

That explains it. The old Dead Zone gambit. That manager probably exposed the next Hitler right? Right? We should at least give him the benefit of the doubt.

If Katims puts the focus more on the boy like the book did I could see him doing a really good show about growing up nerdy, like Freaks and Geeks meets Friday Night Lights. Of course, Two and a Half Men was basically an adaptation of About a Boy too, so there's plenty of scope for things to go wrong.

Guys, you really have to watch this new sitcom "FUCK THE TROOPS 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!!!" It's much better than it sounds.

Nah, if he was such a beloved character he'd have more than 3 lines per episode, I'm chalking this down to Av Club commenters wanting to be different and special or just people who are so in love with the show they think the parts that don't work are actually the best (Ann Perkins syndrome, I think it's called).

I'm shocked anyone would think he's not. He can't deliver a joke to save his life, I've never laughed at a Winston line, and I like the show. And they mostly give him broad physical comedy to do, but he's terrible at that too. Look at Damon Wayons III over on Happy Endings and then watch Winston, it's obvious which is

I think the opposite. Winston gets very little to do because he is played by an extremely poor actor who they never wanted for the show in the first place. If they start to focus on him more cause they feel like they should it'll kill the show. The C plots he gets at the moment (mostly revolving around how nobody
