His point was that since there are already a million other places you can go to hear comedians talking about comedy, there's no sense the av club throwing their hat into the ring unless they're gonna bring something new to it, which they're not really. You can disagree, but only a horrible sycophantic

It's silly but good, like season 1 of Dexter. No overacting though, the leads remain pretty subdued no matter how crazy it all gets.

Not American so didn't see the coverage, but that comment seems completely disgraceful. Is he gonna get away with saying that shit in front of millions of people without even apologising? When there's like 20 newswire stories a day of celebrities being forced to apologise for tweeting much less controversial things?

Calling yourself MC when you're a DJ is pretty confusing, and I guess lame.

I'd say he didn't even think Dark Knight Rises was that bad, it was just the only way he could think to set up that punchline.

You can have straw men in comedy though, like when a comedian tells a joke and then goes "one time, I told that joke and a guy in the crowd said bla bla bla" and what the imaginary person said sets him up perfectly for his put down. Lots of crowd work is based on straw men too, where the comedian will twist whatever

I bet this makes Christopher Nolan feel better, knowing the hipsters shitting on his films also think Vertigo and The Searchers suck.

Was The Thing reevaluated by critics? I think it was reevaluated by people catching it on tv. Much like It's a Wonderful Life (one of the many similarities those two films have).

Then why do British geeks like it?

Genuds watches New Girl and Modern Family and thinks he's smart because those shows don't have laugh tracks and are therefore smart and good.

Nice try Koski. Next time pick a fake username that isn't just cockney rhyming slang for your actual name.

Shaun of the Dead is sort of a successful Ghostbusters style movie. It's not a blockbuster, but it does have comedians fighting monsters, and mixes comedy with a real sense of danger and escalating threat. I'd consider it more a Ghostbusters type thing than a genre spoof, as it's not really parodying zombie movies, it

12 year olds all love music trends from the late 70s.

Harmon did the Inspector Spacetime thing at the request of an Av Club comment. It's true, look it up. At your local library.

Haha, take that google!
