Coraline's the only movie I've seen so far where I thought the 3D enhanced the experience—it was incorporated into the overall aesthetic very deftly, where in most movies the 3D seems either unnecessary and boring or outright distracting.

Yeah, this is my main concern, and honestly I'm a bit miffed that so much of the argument has been about whether or not this "diminishes" the original work. A lot of people (including in this review, and in DC's original press announcement) argue against that point, but I haven't actually seen all that people arguing…

I never thought I'd say "Martin Short is a classy guy," but: Martin Short is a classy guy.

Every time you're reminded of your own mortality, take a sip.
Every time you remember a traumatic childhood memory, drink.
Every time you think about how unhappy your relationships have been, take two sips.
Every time you think about the things the world has stolen from you, finish the glass.

"There's only one Fat Spice. If he was your mother, you'd know."
I loved that whole thing from the beginning, with shaking his hand out after decking the one guy. Perfect illustration of how Theon's attempts at being a stone cold badass tend to backfire.
We don't actually find out where Bran and Rickon are until the very end,
but it's revealed in the very same chapter that Theon doesn't know,
either:
@avclub-acaf2711a4baf8d79ab527b471448b4b:disqus: Bronn was never actually sworn to the Starks or anything. He's a mercenary, Tyrion's the heir to the biggest fortune in the kingdom, and that's basically all the backstory there is to it.
