There is a very subtle aspect to the "take the money" scene that constitutes a true magical realism element in this southern-gothic, off-into-the-wilderness-with-the-devil tale.  Before Daniel takes the money, there's a trailer full of goats.  After he takes the money and the driver takes off without really answering…
