There's a huge difference between the actual Universal Studios, where (at least a one time) you could see where movies actually got made, backlots, props, etc., and the theme parks that Universal has made in Florida and elsewhere that are a replica of a replica.

Yes. El Mariachi is creative, but it's not very good. I don't remember anything about it (except that there was a scene that's shot in fast motion because Rodriguez was running out of film), but I'm sure that if I sat down and outline a story based only on action movie/wrong man cliches, it would be pretty close.
