I felt kind of bad for Steve Yeun. He seemed to be having a ton of fun but he looked like he felt outmatched by everyone else in the room. Which he was, really, but he can't be blamed for that.

Yes! Hot Rod is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. All the best comedies should leave you thinking, "Wait, did that actually make sense?" And then not caring because you never stopped laughing at it.

I think it's actually funnier in the context of the movie.

It was a terrifically weighty shot, too. Southland just doesn't look like that, so to cut to that shot as Lydia makes the decision to tell the inmate her son's name just took my breath away, and nailed down how important it was to her.
