I meant if you're trying to introduce these things to a new or different audience. Alien and Doc. S's pacing is a little slower than most movies today, and the effects aren't as sophisticated. These aren't bad things about them by any means, but they don't make movies like these anymore.

2001 and Lyndon are pretty hard sells. The easiest and most watchable one is, in my opinion, Dr. Strangelove. Lolita is best watched with a group of close friends who like to MS3k stuff. Not to diminish Kubrick's work, of course.
