It's just about the perfect guitar/indie rock album. It's less jammy and complicated than Perfect from Now On, so I guess it's a question of preferences between the two great albums.

My stepfather looks just like David Bowie…but he hates David Bowie.

You're right, I remember that liner note about BTS. I remember thinking "but you're a band with a piano and no guitars, and you dream of covering a band that is practically all guitars?" Like you, that nice cover of Twin Falls was my intro to Built to Spill.

Carry the Zero is one of the best guitar rock songs of all time. That's all I'm here to say. The end.

Nine Inch Nails covering Joy Division? Yes please.

Yeah, I've heard a few live versions that are pretty spectacular. I've always loved the "in America, every puddle gasoline rainbow" coda to that song. Just such a great image and metaphor.

ALTHOUGH, the song "Nowhere Nothing Fuckup" from Ultimate Alternative Wavers is a wonderful take on Velvet Underground's "Oh Sweet Nothin'" and worth the price of admission.

Another valid reason to rank KILAS first: Carry the Zero. Which is a symphony, for guitars.

This was one of the funniest scenes in TV history. I was dying.

If there ever was an episode of a TV show deserving an "A," this was it. So well written. So well performed. ALL the funnies.

" I don’t have the taste in music that you think is morally acceptable." No, you just like music that is awful, and dislike music that is good. Which is the perfect hipster move, btw. IRONY!

It was nice to see D'Angelo Barksdale actually survived that prison shanking! And he's made something of himself in his new life in Chicago too.

There just didn't seem to be as many dynamics in Here and Nowhere Else; with few exceptions, the songs blend together for me.

Fall In really is the perfect indie rock song. But I can't fault you on this choice. The whole album is just damned enjoyable.

I was born a unicorn. I could've sworn you believed in me. Then how come all the other unicorns are dead?

My favorite was their use of a cover of Daniel Johnston's "Devil Town" in a sequence (I think in Season 1) hinting that not everything about high school football is great and honorable. ("I was living in a devil town…all my friends were vampires…turns out I was a vampire myself in a devil town")

You left off Marilyn Manson in Eastbound and Down!

Those are all great songs.

Stay Free: The best song of all time that shares an unfortunate name with feminine hygiene products. Btw, I always figured The Libertines' "What Became of the Likely Lads" is a spiritual cover of Stay Free. Both songs are just excellent.

I went to Andalusia on vacation once, and that song was in my head the entire time we were there. That song is majestic as fuck.
