Heaven forbid a show do something other than a "balls-to-the-walls" season finale! /sarcasm

Though it did seem kind of inevitable, I was truly shocked and horrified when Joffrey announced that Ned was to be executed. Partly because of the Ned-centric marketing.

I really liked the first three series as well and was sorely disappointed by series 4. What Phil wrote above — it's all true. This series ruins Belle, ruins Ben, and introduces Poppy, one of the most annoying characters to hit TV in recent memory. (She kind of reminded me of Dawn from Buffy in terms of

I'm a bit late to the thread here (was on vacation last week), but I wanted to add my thanks for doing a "newbie" review. Hurrah for spoiler-free discussions!

Couldn't agree more. He has become unbearable.
Yeah, his Golden Globe speech was kinda funny. But his self-righteous "What? What? I thought this was America?" attitude afterwards (on and on and on about in the British and American media) was just so douche-y.

No Vancouver show?
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I saw them at Deer Lake Park on the NB tour and they were nothing short of incredible.

I second that!

I just got the P/V translation of Demons for Christmas — can't wait to read it!

My chief time-sucker is the icanhascheezburger sites. I really need to cut back … really. But if I had to narrow it down to 1-2 sites, which would I choose? Hmm…
Still, I agree with you. I really need to spend less time online.

I've read a couple of translations of the Bros K. (my favourite book, by far), and my recommendation is the Ignat Avsey translation. It's just so readable. The version I have is published by Oxford UP.

I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I would like to add my thanks to Hold on there.
By the way, I did an honours degree in English and I work as an editor at an organization that conducts research into public policy. I do some creative writing on the side and so far have been published in a couple of online zines.

Yikes
I'm staying home on Christmas Day.

Yes! I liked that film. Though I am rather biased. Being from Vancouver, I love it when books and films are set in Vancouver.

I had no idea Chipotle was a restaurant until I read the comments on this article — I thought they were just referring to the spice. (They obviously don't have Chipotle, the restaurant, in Canada.)

I actually thought Funny People was, well, funny. A little long in some places definitely, and not a perfect movie, but a good, enjoyable movie. I was pretty skeptical going in — Adam Sandler's movies generally suck — but the movie even pokes fun at that ("Merman"?).
So, it's not going on my all-time top 10 or

Joyful and ethereal
We walked down the aisle to Sigur Ros — Se Lest for the processional and Olsen Olsen for the recessional … and it was amazing. Ah memories…

No Canadian stops?
Boo! Hiss!
Ah well… I'm still interested in reading it.

I heart this movie
This probably is my favourite movie of all time, and that's saying quite a lot, considering how reluctant I am to pick "favourites."
Also, has any one pointed out that it's CHICKEN-salad that Shania's hates, not TUNA salad as the author writes? (I'm sorry - I didn't feel like reading all 400+

I have to second that as well. Gone are the days of mixtapes/mixcds for me. I find it really quite jarring to stop halfway through a cd or do things shuffle style. To me, it seems like you can't really understand what an artist trying to say unless you accept the album as a package.
Plus, so many albums are very
