Lennon's delivery of 'They really hate it' never fails to crack me up though.

I remember when CBC had multiple comedies worth watching, and not just the things they imported from the UK either.

I understand that read on it, but I also understand reading it as an expression of frustration at not being able to read people as well as you think you can. Both interpretations are equally valid.

I think "Tennis Court" was moderately popular as well, just had the misfortune of being released as "Royals" was finally getting traction so it got relegated to the position of being 'that other Lorde song.'

Exposure to Laura Palmer turned her into Lara Flynn Boyle. That makes a lot of sense actually…

I may have said this before elsewhere on the site, but I like to think that if Lynch had been on hand Earle would have been kept offscreen until he comes back from the Lodge the first time, so instead of a few episodes of him in shitty disguises the first time we see him he's all ghostly white and full-past mad. That

I think that the one where Coop figures it all out is among the series' worst, but that has nothing to do with the fact that it ends the mystery and more to do with how they chose to have it all wrapped up.

B-b-b-but…Aloe Blacc!! Also, having heard the country version of the same song puts it in a much better light.

Especially when said boobs shoot fireworks and whipped cream.

For me it's 'I'm gonna be exposed to this daily thanks to not having control over the radio at work, might as well focus on the positive things about this rather than work myself into a rage any time something sub-standard appears.' Then my hatred gets laser focused on the ones with no redeeming qualities (looking in

Pony Express Record is fucking fantastic and one of the 90s best straight-up rock records. But as to it being the weirdest major label album of the decade…well let me introduce you to my good friend Pop Tatari. I think it pretty much takes the cake as far as major-label weirdness for me.

Well it shoulda been a better shot and caught him in the head

-Listen to new music throughout the year rather than listening to as much of it as I can in the last month. Not going overboard with it, like maybe 1 or 2 albums a week until the crunch but I've been removed from the discussion of modern music for too long and I feel like I should get back in the game.

As the credits rolled on The Cook, The Thief… I was torn between retching and falling into paroxysms of laughter. I don't think any other thing I've seen has done that to me.

Along the same lines, Ved Buens Ende's Written in Waters and Fleurety's Min tid skal komme are fantastic as well.

American Football moreso that Cap'n Jazz, plus the best bands have a lot of post-rock influence on top of that. It's less sloppy 'n' rambunctious than Cap'n for sure but no less passionate.

Also: so much non-kid-friendly humour.

"Get Lucky" for Record, "Royals" for Song imo.

Rough top ten…

1. The Drones - I See Seaweed
2. Julia Holter - Loud City Song
3. Tim Hecker - Virgins
4. Haim - Days Are Gone
5. Run the Jewels
