Indeed, for once Canada wasn't just catching onto a trend as it faded out.

"Bounce" too. and "Cadillac" if only for the abrupt ending.

I think I might be very, very alone in this camp, but I like - not love, like - Phish based solely on their albums and have never seen them live, mostly due to lack of opportunity. I just think they hit that sweet spot where they can demonstrate that they can fucking play without rubbing it in your face the way that

Ah, but Van didn't have a distracting coke booger during his performance, so, y'know…points.

It's one of the best albums of all time period, let's not apply needless boundaries on it's greatness.

It's even more disconcerting than the girls who are boys and do boys like they're girls who do girls like they're boys and do boys like they're girls.

Seriously, I want to find some way to corner Ron Howard and tell him to scrap the movie angle of his adaptation because it would work so much better as a series. Hell last time I read through the first four I mentally broke it down into two seasons as I was reading because it just lends itself so well to episodic

List ideally sequenced to make me go from acceptance to utter confusion. Seriously, how did we let Smash Mouth happen guys? Not to mention LFO…

Going in the opposite direction, when she got Gallon Drunk to be her backing band it really kicked her songs up a notch or two…

And it's not like she's lacking for singles that merit just as much discussion either. I mean "When Under Ether," "Down By the Water," "She-La-Na-Gig," "Dress" and "C'mon Billy" have more than enough to dissect and discuss.

PJ Harvey doesn't ask, she demands.

To Bring You My Love
Rid of Me
Peel Sessions
Let England Shake
White Chalk
Is This Desire?
Dry
Stories…
Uh Huh Her

"Down by the Water" probably because it was my first exposure to her and made ten year old me very, very afraid but not enough that I stopped wanting to hear it/see the video.

Discussions of PJ and female sexuality probably don't need to go any further than Dry. I mean they could and probably should, but they don't really need to.

I really can't call any album with "A Perfect Day Elise" AND "No Girl So Sweet" AND "The Sky Lit Up" AND "The River" on it lackluster. Even if the rest of it doens't quite grab me as forcefully as To Bring You My Love and Rid of Me still do those four songs are more than enough to keep it in the discussion.

This probably comes from having been introduced to "I Can't Tell You Why" through Vince Gill's cover, but the drum sound is far from the only thing about the original that falls a bit flat…

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
For five seconds
Then another ones comes along and no one cares about you anymore.

Also, 'boom' and 'moon' DO NOT RHYME AND IT TOOK 5 FUCKING PEOPLE TO COME UP WITH THAT LINE AND FUCK ALL OF THEM.

The Pink insult.
