Agreed, I actually think the show got better when it stopped being about her dealing in the suburbs and started focusing on how she's a horrible, manipulative person who can't help but fuck up everything and everyone around her.

Just got the full series box of Homicide this past Xmas. Blazed through the first four seasons in a month…and 3 months after that I'm still only halfway through S5. I don't think I've ever seen my enthusiasm for a show die so quickly.

It really depends on what songs the piped-in radio at work has decided will be in high rotation for any given period of time, but recently my recurrent earworm has been Londonbeat's "I've Been Thinking About You". All it takes is 'SH-BA-BA' and there's not turning back.

I avoided this by muting my TV and cranking up my stereo while I played video games. It's the Callum Keith Rennie factor. Any other actor and the scene can't be read as anything but attempted bonding between the soon-to-be stepdad and the kid, but CKR just makes everything inherently creepy by his mere presence.
