The show works a LOT better when the guest has some familiarity with what's going on. Unfortunately, Ian wasn't quite onboard.
Because her name reminds me of Blair from Facts of Life, which in turn reminds me of Jo from Facts of Life, and then I remember that I need to shave my wangulars.
Exactly…willful suspension of disbelief gets harder and harder.
Clarity isn't the endgame…willful suspension of disbelief is. It's almost impossible to suspend disbelief and get into the world of the show/movie when you feel like you're on the sound stage with the actors.
Ahhh…Lil' Gary will always have a very, very small place in my heart.
AKA Clock Soccermom
"Seriously…where are your parents?!"
Agreed. She went from precocious weirdo with limited supervision to possibly behaviorally-challenged/mentally handicapped person in a special school.
The characters didn't matter much to the bit…they were merely the delivery vehicle for the awesome fanfic. The only misstep was spending too much time with their back story.
That scene has always stuck with me. It's a good movie, mostly forgettable, but that scene had a weird sort of resonance. Good pull.
Or the one who had the Lethal…I wanna say handgun. Is it Lethal Handgun? Lethal Rifle? You know, the one where Donald Glover played the guy that was too old for things. That one.
Holy shit…I just now figured out that segue is pronounced seg-way. I always thought the shortened version was just "segue" like "tongue," but apparently it's "seg." Jeebus.
I'm always weirdly disappointed at how much his regular voice sounds like his characters' voices.
Speaking of Besser, this week's Improv 4 Humans was much better than last week's. Andy Daly is as close to can't-miss as it gets.
I skipped over them at first, but I have to say I'm surprised by how good they are. Those two have such an interesting rapport…and like I said above, waiting for Howard to say something exasperating, which confuses the guest, which in turn makes Kulap laugh like a maniac is a recipe for comedy I don't think I'll tire…
The Bryant Gumbel character kills me every time. He always "knows" the Sklars are calling, and he ALWAYS big-times 'em like he has something important going on. Nash is a genius.
I'd just like to say that I'm really, really starting to love Who Charted?. Howard's hilariously awkward segue ways (and Kulap's resulting exasperation) never fail to make me chuckle like an idiot.
Agreed…while Mantzoukas has been a part of some great CBB moments, guy needs to learn to just shut the f*ck UP once in a while.
