i guess it depends on the town. For the most part everyone where i grew up and involved in hardcore loved hardcore, and also had a varying a different other things they enjoyed. we would jam youth of today and minor threat followed by CCR and Michelle Branch (maybe i should keep that to myself)

being old and being into hardcore seems much more common these days. While I am not as involved and active, I still enjoy going to shows when I can and listening to bands. I think my longevity in enjoyment of the music has been my willingness to listen to other genres along the way. My friends who dont like

Shelter is definitely something to ignore, but 108 had some awesome songs. I am ok without the chanting and the prayer beads and krishna flyers at shows, but free krishna meals were awesome.

Interesting topic. I could have lived with out ever knowing that Zebrahead song existed. That was one of the worst pieces of crap that I have heard in a long time. That singer needs a goddamn icepick to the face

I try not too hard to understand who listens to Nickelback, it is a paradox that I dont think the human mind was meant to comprehend. 3 tier post grunge was never supposed to happen:-(

whenever Ghandi is mentioned I can only think of the awesomeness that could have been this if it was a full lenth: http://youtu.be/Gndlou37Qok

Agree with this ranking system. I think Den was my favorite when I was younger, but seeing it again a few years back the creepiness of the b-17 in combination with its conciseness definitely brought it to the forefront. Also Hanovers speech before he goes on the rampage alone makes that segment worth it.

Agreed on the throwaway story line of the Sternn section, but I definitely need to second Hanovers exclamations as he is converting. It still makes me laugh every time.

This is my choice of a creepy and terrifying song. The rapid constant beat combined with Alan Vega's desperation gets to me every time. Frankie…
