It feels almost more conventional this season, more staged like a typical drama/comedy in it's plotting and whatnot, but the scenes are as mesmerizing as they've ever been and the realistic acting just takes it up a notch. The two arc going on with Jane and Amia are both fascinating as well, as seeing them briefly

Probably my favorite line. He didn't even need to say it based on the look on his face, but I was glad he did anyway.

This whole review made very little sense to me. I didn't understand the points he was trying to make (or I did, but I didn't really get their significance), and it was just structured very oddly.

She was stunningly good in these episodes. I thought her crying breakdown after Louie catches up to her when she jumped off the subway wasn't particularly strong though I must admit, but everything since then she's been phenomenal.

"Model" might be my favorite episode as well. It's pretty much pitch-perfect, and actually superior to the more talked about "And So Did The Fat Lady", which while also great has a few issues. Pretty much agree also that season 3 was a bit of miss for me, I didn't really get into all of the "Louie's Girlfriend" stuff

Yeah, although Kardashian was supposed to be Rogers love-interest in an episode from this season that didn't get to air, which bugs me. I would have loved one more Roger ep for the season, and this one - where he dates another alien - sounds fucking primo.

Agreed, it went into some really crazy, bizarre direction I never expected it to go based on what sounded like a fairly grounded premise where we'd only here from Jeff from his spaceship, Definitely didn't expect him to return home to some bizarre AD alternate universe.

I think it depends on his antics though. He never got his comeuppance for killing those frat boys, but that didn't seem like a deal breaker at all (although I guess in a way they deserved some sort of revenge, although granted not as severe as Roger was dishing out). Also, stuff like convincing Steve he was adopted,

One of my favorite scenes ever, especially because it's set up with the "Next time, on American Dad!", that bookends things from the "Previously on…" that starts and also sets up the episode. Such a great way to get that whole episodes conflict rolling while avoiding a bunch of scenes and exposition that would eat up

I like Jackson, although Sanders and Dick are probably my two favorite CIA guys. Perhaps you just hate him because he's voiced by Mike Henry, and that reminds you of *shudder* The Cleveland Show.

Well, him and Weitzman wete co-showrunners, they both did half of the episodes in a given season, so I'd say they were equally talented and crucial in the development of the show (although it was Barkers insistence that there be zero cutaways, which was major in giving the show it's own identity apart from FG).

It seemed a bit too convenient a way to get rid of Hayleys love interest and reset the status-quo, but hey, if your gonna kill of a side-character by the hands of a main character, Rogers pretty much your go-to character. Although I would have possibly preferred a stupid accent, like earlier when Stan tried to "smoke"

I just Mr. Belvedered myself. Google it.

Well it was really the insane following it developed AFTER said cancellations that allowed it to return, mainly because of the massive DVD sales and the huge ratings it was getting as reruns on Adult Swim and TBS.

It's funny that you mention "Father Of The Pride", because that was one of the shows Barker and Weitzman worked on before they got the gig on "Family Guy". Or at least I think they both worked on it, it could have just been Barker. I know that Weitzman also worked on "The PJs" as well.

Pissed I missed the comment section for this while it was good and active, as I was feeling a bit under the weather and wasn't up to do much, but I just say have to say that this is a wonderful post and it's a shame it doesn't have 100-plus likes.

Yeah, let's face it though, this What's On Tonight article really should have had just American Dad as it's top pick, not the whole block. Yeah it's noteworthy that FOX Animation ends tonight, but considering it's ending with AD and it also began with AD, plus all of these other shows will be retuning on FOX next

When does this show start to get good? I started watching it on Netflix somewhat excited based on all of the glowing AV Club reviews, and by episode 5 or 6 was thoroughly disinterested in it and it kinda fell by the wayside.

American Dad has done three. "Hot Water", about a killer hot-tub voiced by Cee-Lo Green, "Minstrel Krampus", a Christmas episode about Krampus, and "Rubberneckers", a musical about rubbernecking (the art of checking out people on the sly). The last two actually both aired as a part of the current season, although the

Well maybe you didn't like the jokes, but I thought it to be probably the most joke heavy episode of the season, pretty much because it starred Roger and he had easily his most lines of the season, almost all of which were jokes (and good ones, at that).
