Might as well put that whole quote, because it's gold;

That would be cool, but I also wouldn't mind seeing an AD veteran writer taking over some duties, like maybe Matt McKenna, Dan Vebber, or Brian Boyle. It would be interesting to see what they could do as show runners.

Oh honey…you tire me.

Agreed, this was a pretty quotable episode from top to bottom and both plots were entertaining. It was a welcome return for American Dad. Not their absolute best work but nowhere near a C-range episode.

Can't tell if your being sarcastic, but if not…Scott Grimes is a singer and he has multiple albums out. In fact the songs performed by Steves band "Steve and the Asstones" in the "American Dream Factory" episode are Scott Grimes songs (I know one of them is called "Sunset Blvd").

Yeah, this is the most baffling part of the review. It was just a goofy little plot with some silly side-characters who had a Charlie-Angels tint to them, nothing more, nothing less. The best part was Stan and Francine just getting along and having fun and Stan saying silly lines. There was no commentary necessary for

I dunno, something about American Dads style of humor just hits a sweet-spot in a way very few shows do. It's character and situation based, but some of the lines are just so clever and off-the-wall hilarious in a way that's really unique. I mean, there's more to it than that but it's kind of hard to put in to words.

Or how about when she became a "doctor" for the Handicap Mafia, and to escape death she convinced them to rob the non-handicap accessible First National Bank with a rousing speech. Ah man, that's a great episode and Frannie has some great lines, such as;

I like "Bobs Burgers" I just think it's praise is massively overblown. Gene is one of the most annoying cartoon characters I've ever seen, no joke. I cringe at almost everything he says…and he has decent jokes occasionally but the voice acting/delivery is just often unbearable.

Yeah I really hope that's not the case. Hopefully he left on decent enough terms that he can still pop in for a day or two and record the necessary lines. It would be a shame to have to write out two fantastic recurring characters.

Gwen is their biological daughter…the episode "Big Trouble In Little Langley" deals with the friction Francine faces by not being their real daughter (and thus Stan using said fact to try and get her to meet her real parents, because of course they're upper-class white people).

Agree, Francine is utterly amazing, as is Roger. That's also what's a little troubling about Kevins reviews, is sometimes he comes off a little negative towards the Roger character, while to the vast majority of AD fans eyes he's the best thing that happened to the show and one of the best characters in all of

Yes, it was a very confusing situation. But from the information I've gleamed from various press releases and whatnot, he was merely a stand-in while Barker/Weitzman took a short-break away from the show. They returned though, and as of now Matt Weitzman is the showrunner for the TBS run.

Well like Barker said, "same old American Dad, just on a new network". Reassuring, until you remember this was shortly before he promptly quit over alleged creative differences. That to me is the worrying part.

During the production of this season (officially production season number 8) Mike Barker took a short hiatus (and I think Matt Weitzman might have as well). They had been running the show consecutively for like seven years so I think it was just like a little sabbatical, if you will. In their absence, Steve Callaghan

I've yet to see the episode (I'm waiting for it to appear online…don't tell anyone!), but I was both shocked that a.) an American Dad review is up before like 3 in the morning, and b.) after a nearly two-month hiatus the episode gets a measly C. A C, Macfarland, a C! The joyous return of the show in and of itself

I'm pretty sure that's Joe Daniello, one of the shows directors. He has tons of cameo appearances on the show, and if you pause at the right moment in the episode "Choosy Wives Choose Smith" you can see that he's the one in the car who hits Simon the cat (he's distracted from lighting his female passengers cigarette).

Season 5 is, imo, far and away the worst Dan Harmon season ever. To think it's running for best season of the show is just laughable. It's literally a small step-up above season 4. I mean, I stopped watching it on live airing and only catch up on the episodes over the weekend, that's how non-appointment viewing this

A decent episode in a passable 5th season.

I dunno, Chase as the villain in season 2 was seriously a huge asset and part of what made that season and certain episodes (The Documentary one, Advanced D&D) work so well and give them proper dramatic heft. I think his usefulness to the show is underrated just because they didn't really know what to do with him much
