Maybe it does! But let's not argue about this, coz what's the point… we're in different headspaces… or something….

Nobody talking about Gravity in my neck of the woods, so that I completely forgot to check it out! I'll do that on Wednesday. This weekend, I watched Insidious 2 with a group of friends. I had an awesome time. The girl beside me screamed at every jump scare, which made things fun. It's not a scary film, but it's

Funny, I missed Homeland this week! I will say that it doesn't feel like "must-see TV" right now, but I still enjoy hanging out with Carrie and Saul, so there's that!

I've always liked season one, but Fringe is a show that was practically made for me! (A lot of X-Files, a little Alias, a touch of X-Men…) And nearly every plot in season one gets a cool callback.

Obviously, you should have paired Clue with Clueless… and followed it with Blue's Clues.

I enjoyed The Great Gatsby too, but I didn't think much of Maguire's performance. I dunno, there's something distracting about the guy. I could buy Di Caprio as Gatsby, but I never stopped seeing Tobey Maguire.

The Name of the Rose is such a wonderfully fun movie (murder, mazes, and torture!), I don't even mind the many, many liberties they took with it. And that's one of my favorite books of all time… granted, I did see the movie first. That may have helped.

September was Vonnegut month for me. I read Slaughterhouse-FiveMother Night, and The Sirens of Titan, God Bless You, Mr Rosewater (still reading this). It's funny how much Vonnegut skewers rich elitist pricks, apparently his favorite target — yet he paints everyone else just as badly, from terrible sci-fi writers,

Maybe Wong Kar Wai isn't for you? I find that hard to believe, but once in a while I'm reminded that people exist who hate Rushmore. Not saying you're at all like that, but sometimes you find things that work for others but not you. (I can't  get into Good Omens or Chuck Palahniuk or The Walking Dead.)

Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal in Donnie Darko

Sweet, a bowl of Franken Berry for breakfast!

If I had to watch a fictional opera, I think I'd pick the one from The Fifth Element. The alien diva whose pipes supposedly make sounds no human is capable of… I bet the movie didn't do her justice.

Too many dwarves to choose from in The Hobbit.

People hate INXS now?

@avclub-3db41011acc2d229176bf6a92202728d:disqus That's why Voldemort killed him!

Never realized that New Girl was set in the same world as 2001: A Space Odyssey….

Angel season 5's "A Hole in the World"

I second Pierrot Le Fou.

Hannibal hasn't been mentioned yet, either.

Yeah, that show doesn't get enough attention around here.
