Jesse with the gun — that felt like a callback to his closing scene at Gale's apartment in Season 3 ("Full Measure").

That wasn't the first kill. Krazy 8's partner was the first, dying in the meth lab RV. But it was a good callback all the same.

Agreed. There is nothing Walt could do to make up for the suffering he brought upon Jesse, Hank, Marie, and his family. He got to go out in a way far better than that sonuvabitch deserved. At least he did a little bit of good, though far from enough, on the way out.

Pride is a big part of it, but it's also clear that Walt despises the Schwartzes so, so much.

Walt got to go out on his own terms. He didn't earn redemption. Rewatch all of Jesse's scenes since the Nazis captured him before you come back and tell me again that Walt earned redemption.

Walt got to go out on his own terms and a modicum of justice served, and that's fine with me, but… redemption? Let's not go crazy here. Hank is dead, Jesse got enslaved, and his family lost everything. I don't think Walt did enough to redeem all that suffering. Maybe in his own head….

I agree with you. I liked this finale, but I'm not overly impressed by it. As I wrote above, I was expecting something more powerful and gut-wrenching. I think it's good, not great. The scene with Skyler was wonderful and it was, I agree, the best part of the finale. And I don't have a problem with Walt going out on

I wouldn't say "disappointing" but I felt that something was missing. I think I wanted an ending as powerful and gut-wrenching as The Shield's, and that it wasn't. I'm okay with this finale, I'm just not over the moon.

It's real-world wrong, but in fictional terms, it's wonderful to see Jesse become the avenging angel to Drew Sharp and Andrea, and make the world a better place by ridding it of Ricky Hitler.

It was good, but a lot… "happier" than I've come to expect from this show. I would have preferred a heavier, more tragic finale. Also, I feel it spent too little time on Jesse's fate. He deserved more. It was a fairly good episode, it just felt a bit too "TV" if that makes any sense.

How come Nicholas Brody never seems to be included in this conversation? (Is it coz he's Muslim? ….uh, hmm…. but yeah, serious about the first question.)

In the most horrifying development of the Jesse saga yet, we find out that he is being forced to watch Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium again and again to utterly break his spirit.

Walt and Uncle Jack die. Jesse lives, goes to prison (and receives protection from the Aryans). Lydia also goes to prison. Todd lives, is on the run. Skyler and family live, with new identities. Marie lives, goes into politics, maybe gets backing from the Schwartzes. Elliott Schwartz lives to learn that he has cancer.

@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus That would be lovely, but I suspect that won't happen. The most optimistic thing I can come up with is that Jesse goes to prison, cleans up, gets parole, and connects with Drew Sharp's family (he wrote them, wanting to give them closure). The Sharps help him get back on

The show is capable of getting us closer to the real action than the book's POV-restrictive approach allows. That better be how it goes.

To be fair, many countries do this. The Office has been remade many times, including (from Wikipedia) U.S., French, German, Québécois, Chilean, Israeli, and Swedish versions.

Damn, you serious? To think that CSI used to be fairly smart for a procedural. In the first season, they even kept the CSI guys completely separate from the detective work!

Hey, at least Betsy Brandt's on The Michael J. Fox Show, Jonathan Banks is guesting on Community, Bob Odenkirk's got that spinoff series, and Cranston is… um, well, guesting on How I Met Your Mother….

It wasn't the the pacemaker thing for me. It was that Abu Nazir's plan was ridiculously convoluted and never should have worked. Actually, I don't mind the craziness. This show was crazy from the get-go, it just got way over the top in S2. What can I say, I enjoyed it.

It's a show inspired by superhero comics. Just give thanks we didn't get sexified Amanda Waller.
