It is not a show that fits the "ABC Family" brand. It's a geeky, goofy, bizarre, somehow stylish show with wall-to-wall zingers. Personally, I feel there's a "Buffy" vibe to it… the fun, ass-kicking side of Buffy, anyway.

Head over Heels was the first Go-Gos song I heard, for whatever reason, and it's still my favorite. I'm happy to see it get some love.

The Go-Gos, no question. If I'm gonna be honest with myself, the only reason I like The Bangles at all is coz Susanna Hoffs is insanely hot.

"Humphrey Bogart" sounds ridiculous if you think about it. It's a testament to the guy that he made himself into an icon of cool.

Batman is a child's fantasy of an adult badass. Spider-Man is a teenage geek motivated by guilt. So yeah, Batman is cooler and more versatile. I've always been more of a Spidey fan, myself. He's more relatable. But he's clearly a more limited character. And Marvel doesn't seem to want him to grow up.

I used to go to an evangelical church, but I never believed in any of that Rapture stuff, or the apocalypse, or friggin' demons either. But I have to admit that pretty much everyone else in the church did believe in that stuff.

@intangible_fancy:disqus Maybe they were watching evidence footage gathered by the previous team? Not that it matters, it's enough that they tossed up a little in-joke.

I guess I get that, but still, Archer isn't a show that derives much of its humor from degrading and belittling those who don't deserve it or can't take it (and frequent punching bag Pam, well, we know she can take it). Compare it to Family Guy's treatment of Meg. Even the frequent woundings of Brett don't quite

So much talk about Fringe this week. You're making me want to watch it again, dammit! And I totally would do it, but I have too much on my plate already.

Huh? I mean, I don't have a mean sense of humor. I don't think you need that to enjoy Archer. It's a show full of absurdity and catchphrases that are fun to shout out loud. It's not a show that's about humiliating and embarrassing people, or laughing at pathetic losers… that's what I imagine a show that requires a

Season five of Fringe greatly alters the storytelling engine of the show, which may have bothered some viewers, as well as throwing off the writers in some of the episodes. But as far as I know, the majority of fans were largely positive on the fifth season, and even the finale. Personally, while I don't think it's

I like The Secret History a lot, but I sometimes wonder why any books have to be made into movies. I've been reading lots of Vonnegut, and I know there are films of Slaughterhouse-Five and Mother Night… but after reading, I can't help but wonder why they would be necessary.

@avclub-16db446cafb1ffb1466e71eaf97a4f49:disqus Hah! I'm going to one of those this weekend. Although I actually will be drawing (and the model is a friend, she invited me). I've never been to one of these shows, so we'll see how it goes! Though I've done plenty of life drawing sessions.

I love Sonatine. I went into it with no idea what to expect. It helped that I watched it with a group of friends who were very receptive to the film's vibe. As dark as it may be, Sonatine is a movie I think of with joy.

People have been talking about how traumatizing Breaking Bad was… but Battlestar Galactica's end run was just as horrific and emotionally devastating. You may end up with some complaints about the finale. Not everything works. But it's still an excellent show with great performances, overall. Worth the watch.

Breakfast of Champions is my favorite, but The Sirens of Titan is a very, very close second. I'm rereading it next week for my book club! And because of that, I thought I'd read as much Vonnegut as I can this month. So I read Slaughterhouse-Five and I'm currently in the middle of Mother Night. Vonnegut truly has a

I suspect it's a lesser work, since people so rarely talk about it compared to the others (but they also rarely mention South of the Border, West of the Sun,

Not with Todd suited up and Jesse vulnerable to toxins. Jesse is not quite so good in chemistry to come up with the things Walt does. But he'll find some way to get out of there.
