I finished A Dance With Dragons. Despite a number of problems, the book managed to draw me into GRRM's world again, after AFFC got me fearing that he'd lost his mojo. I don't want to excuse the fact that ADWD is practically all set-up with very little payoff, but it's still very entertaining. Mostly. And…
I've long liked the (original flavor) Sugababes. I'm not exactly a fan, it was more of a guilty pleasure thing (at first… in time I got over the silly idea that liking girly pop music was something to be ashamed of). Their music doesn't do too much for me anymore, but once in a while I get the need for a "disposable…
Yeah, we're all for reminiscing about Ryan Murphy shows around here.
Jesus is a prophet in Islam, though!
This is as good an excuse as any for posting this: http://www.youtube.com/watc…
NO ANNE-CEST!
This Cartoon Network commercial will tell you all you need to know. Seriously, watch it! :-)

Btw on the "Buried" discussion thread on reddit, someone has this crazy theory that Jesse will "come clean" to Hank and say that he's Heisenberg… or maybe it's not so crazy. Though surely even the DEA isn't stupid enough to believe that of Jesse.
I loved that film! Granted, I saw it as a kid. I'm not sure it would hold up to a re-watch. I've read so many nitpicks about it online… I'm sure they're valid, but thanks for ruining my childhood memories, Internet nerds! I don't think I'll give it a re-watch.
Even as a kid, I found Octopussy ridiculous. (And yet I loved Moonraker. It had a SPACE STATION!)
Oh my God, it's become self-aware!
I don't think so, either, but we all know how hubristic Walter can be. Also, I don't see Jesse working with Hank. He could have gone to the feds any time, but he never did, and Hank has no leverage with Jesse. I think Walt may actually be correct in not viewing Jesse as a threat… but we'll see.
Early X-Factor was a really problematic comic, but young me couldn't see it at the time. I just loved it, especially the issues that focused on the kids. Scott sure was being a jerk to his wife, but that was lost on me, and I'd read "From the Ashes"! Guess the only thing I cared about then was heroes being badass…
I watched Children of Men. Just beautifully shot. I love how it's so suffused with world-weariness, as things go from bad to worse and people die, it gets to the point of feeling more like a slight annoyance than a tragic loss, that's how bleak this fictional UK is. That's probably kinda how life is in Syria now.
I dunno, "I appreciate what books like that accomplish, but not my thing" doesn't sound too bad to me. Especially when so many fantasy readers talk about how literary fiction isn't their thing (it's amazing how many threads on /r/books are depressing that way).
For a moment, I thought you had watched Killing Me Softly, that erotic thriller with Heather Graham… like maybe you got inspired by Rabin's recent write-up on That Other Site.
You ever read the Robotech books? Think they're worth revisiting? Young me loved those books!
They should put Todd in a spin-off. He's dead, but comes back along with a bunch of other zombies that begin to overrun the planet. Call it…
Breaking Bad's had quite a few coincidences, like Walter meeting Jane's dad in a bar, or Jesse dating the sister of the kid who shot Combo. That's just how fiction works. As long as the coincidences aren't too ridiculous, it's fine.
