What about that stretchy guy in The X-Files? Also, there's a He-Man character that can stretch his neck really long.
Why don't they just call the comic Justice League Unlimited? (The team can still be JLI in-universe, JLU can just be the title.)
Sure, she's no Clarence Darrow, but she certainly can turn a phrase. I'd rather listen to Moretz needling Carrey than the tinny tinkling of idiophones.
I'm on the side of his co-star Chloe Moretz, who had a pretty brilliant response to Carrey's remarks:
Seriously, imagine how good Homeland would have been with Amy Acker as Carrie. Ok, I can't see this. It would be too different. But also good.
Cowboys and Aliens vs Predator
Huh. Hey I wonder… has Hipster D-bag seen any Pixar films? He despises animation, doesn't he?
There's no way Abu Nazir's plan should have worked, but I did enjoy the second season a lot. It was entertaining, and I mainly watch the show for the performances by Danes, Patinkin, and Lewis. The kid who plays Dana is pretty impressive, too.
@avclub-ba9fab001f67381e56e410575874d967:disqus I'm just amazed that there's someone who actually wants GRRM to work on something other than The Winds of Winter. :-p
I'm sure my other favorite scenes will be mentioned, so I'll bring up the one where Jesse, in his therapy group, calls out the leader on his bullshit and talks about killing a "dog." The closest he's come to processing Gale's murder. I'm not sure what it is about that scene, but it's one that's really stuck to my…
@avclub-ba9fab001f67381e56e410575874d967:disqus I just feel that the original stories can be too disconnected at times. Brennan in particular often seems to inhabit a different book series. I like the idea of Popinjay and Mr. Nobody* as private detectives whose investigation leads them to The Astronomer and then The…
Black and Winslet? http://www.imdb.com/title/t…
The Jane Whitefield series. It's about a Native American woman who specializes in helping people run away and disappear.
I've thought about this myself, way too much. I like the idea of an original story, kinda like The X-Files, about two investigators who specialize in Wild Cards cases. Then it's like an anthology show where you can switch genres from episode to episode - superhero, mystery, horror, political thriller, comedy, etc.…
A movie is in the works. Here's a summary of the messy production history of the Neuromancer movie: http://scifimethods.com/art…
Watchmen should have been a miniseries.
@avclub-36f8a23ed1166894f1aa598ac11169ab:disqus I know we rag on reddit around here, but they do have this whole subreddit that's all about finding books and movies that people only vaguely remember. It's fascinating to go through. http://www.reddit.com/r/tip…
@avclub-14e4cee178d88fb9aa346dbcc11f2873:disqus Danny, the Champion of the World is actually my favorite among his books. I was surprised to find that Dahl wasn't up to his usual fantasy stuff, but the relationship between Danny and his dad is so lovely, and their story is so charming. Delightful ending, too. I wanted…
I didn't realize there was a movie. Wow, how did I miss that? Is it worth watching?
