Isn't that a book by Catherine Asaro?

I lived across from a dairy farm one year, and when the calves were taken away from the cows, those cows mooed very loudly indeed for 3 days straight.

Our library has a good DVD selection, and has a selection of whole-run TV shows that you can check out for the usual time of 3-weeks instead of the DVD check-out time of 1 week.

I just don't watch it. I'm not going to pay for 10 different streaming services. I do have cable, Netflix, and now Amazon Prime. That's it for me, though.

That's exactly how we said that growing up - you're not my sibling, right?

When my friend and I worked together in 1980 (!) we used to eat all the time at a deli called Zak's. Their food was just so good. All these years later, once in a while one of us will say, remember Zak's? I sure miss that place.

I'm on vacation this week - don't have to be back until after Memorial Day.

I wish I could go to the beach (I'm in the Triangle). Good for you for supporting your brother - my brother was a Marine (in the first Gulf war) and I know he had to have lost friends but he has never talked about it.

I need to read that. It definitely sounds like something I'd enjoy.

I kind of agree - I was not fond of him in the beginning of book 5 but it really made sense when you thought about it.

I think that was my first Discworld book and still one of my favorites.

I've been pissed off at everything lately. Seems like everything I read or watch is irritating me. I'm really trying to stay away from all of the politics because it's just bringing me down. I know I can't hide my head in the sand, but I just need a break from everything.

It's true. I think I don't pay as much attention anymore, although once in a while, I'll entertain myself by trying to identify every vehicle that drives by.

It wasn't the part about the 300 looking like the Bentley, which is true - it was this part: how many people (females especially).

Now that's an upgrade! (In the interest of full disclosure, my uncle sold Mazdas for a couple of decades.)

Yeah, ha ha, women don't know anything about cars! Idiot.

I've read detective stories where the detectives are trying to find out what kind of car it was, and they are always like, let's find a teenage boy - he can tell us!

When I was looking a few years ago, I drove 3 different models of Chevy and didn't like a single one. I was looking for comfortable, not cheap looking interiors, and good acceleration, and I think they failed on all three points.

I'm not 65 but I do agree with your dad. Cars today do look more alike. When I was a young driver in the late 70s/early 80s I could identify most cars at a glance. Not anymore.
