@avclub-fec1b8d3fbc08f27a84e5a334d45bb5a:disqus: our politicians tend not to (publicly) take sides in US political disputes, but in that particular case we did kind of have a stake in the issue under discussion (Obama's plans for a troop drawdown in Iraq, IIRC); and also, as uselessbeauty mentioned up top, our idiot…
Agreed, more or less. I don't like "Little Drummer Boy" at all (and I like Bing Crosby even less than that), but this does work in some odd way, and it's the only version of the song I'll not actively avoid whenever I encounter it.
On the other hand, is any of that worse than you lazily recycling one of your Metafilter comments without bothering to change a word?
So @avclub-17fc821acf8201df4d32d05fb05d0d4a:disqus is a teacher, then? Crikey.
Is SMG on record as having a deep, abiding (and somewhat peculiar) love for some type of tree-dwelling mammal? Because that's surely one of the necessary prerequisites.
I'm willing to entertain the idea that she's not exactly the world's best actress, but even so, she was very good in BTVS. (Although I guess that argument wouldn't hold much sway with someone who uses the phrase "Buffy wank".)

Apropos of nothing, here's a contemporary opinion of Alec Guinness' performance in TTSS - from Clive James's TV column in The Observer, September 30 1979:
I only know it as a kind of chocolate ice cream from Cadbury, but I guess they must be related somehow, to judge by that photo.

Come on, @avclub-4ffb0d2ba92f664c2281970110a2e071:disqus - those ideas from back in the Tom Pertwee days or whatever are just boring stuff for old people. Why can't you accept how much better it is that our new manic pixie dream-boy Doctor saves every situation with magic and the power of love? And also, this: the new…

Well, they have to fill in the time between Patton Oswalt interviews with something.
