I saw that tour, though it was somewhere in Wisconsin for me, I can't remember the name of the venue. Went mainly to see Ben Folds Five who were my favorite band at the time. They were great, though some asshole in the crowd had a squirtgun and thought it would be funny to spray people.
You'd think that people would have had enough of silly love songs
I thought the latest "5" album was ok, not great. I hated his last solo album (Way to Normal), for exactly the reasons you reference. Such a disappointment after the great work he did on Rockin the Suburbs and Songs for Silverman. Just a massive, juvenile, boring step backwards.
That's an album that I didn't like much when I first heard it. Now I love it. Such great songwriting throughout. If you can make it through Don't change Your Plans, Mess, and Magic without choking up, you're dead inside.
The way James Marsden played Chris's reaction to Lemon's laughing off his request for couch sex was my favorite moment from that character to date, up until the reading of the trampoline pamphlet. So many awesome moments in this episode.
House of Danger was creepy, I always liked that one. Also, Spy for George Washington, The Antimatter Formula, and Supercomputer
I can't speak to how well they would hold up if I were to re-read them as an adult. They are clearly not aimed at adults.
I don't think I watched the show much after that pair of episodes. They destroyed me. I loved Lucy's character and was just floored with those episodes and her death. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. Amazing television.

I think the Titanic routine was wonderfully danced, but the choreo and story were sappy and uninteresting, and playing Unchained Melody, a song completely tied to the movie "Ghost", for a dance based around the movie Titanic, was some sort of weird hybrid that didn't work. The dancers made it pretty, but they…

I don't understand why they have to move the camera at all. Set it 10-15 feet away from the stage, so that I can see the whole stage. Lock it in place. I now have the best seat in the house. Let my eyes do the rest of the work following the dance. All the cutting around and swooping of the camera is superfluous…

Wow, first decent review of a Castle episode in for what I thought was the worst I'd seen on the show in quite some time, possibly ever. This show is popcorn-fun at its best, and this season so far has been bad. Agree that the setup for this episode was good.
Every moment with the new captain is forced. Nothing…
Hot Fuzz is a better film, for reasons that you point out, but Shaun will always be my favorite of the two. They're both damn near perfect, though.
JGabriel, so glad to see someone else list Salinger's Franny and Zooey as a favorite. I don't reread much but that is a novel I've read at least a dozen times in the last 20 years, and I continue to love it.
John Byrne's Superman reboot "Man of Steel" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wik… and some early DC Comics "Suicide Squad".
Awesome
I grew up in Fond du Lac, WI, which is just a 25 minute drive south of Appleton.
Janelle Monae's album is awesome. Agree totally that it needs to be in Top 10 lists for the year.
