I wanted more to happen in the City and the City. I kept waiting for it to bust out at the seams and it never really did.

I'll third that. The salsa looked clunky to me. The power moves were cool, but everything in between just fell flat.

Put on
I was lucky to get to have lunch with him when he was touring for Iron Council, and no, his writing and style is no put on. He's ridiculously smart, and can talk intelligently about just about any topic that's thrown at him, but also quite relatable.

I'm one of the lucky ones. My wife loves it, though she is not as tolerant of the slower episodes as I am. It was the shorts that did it for her, in particular "A Date With Your Family" which I think is in one of the collections.

Dear SYTYCD Director
1. Point the camera at the center of the stage.
2. Zoom out just enough so that I can see the entire stage.
3. Lock the camera in place and walk away.

Best routines ever?
Certainly not Alex's routine from tonight, which was nice, but not deserving of that label.

Ah yes, "If it wasn't for bad luck, you know I wouldn't have no luck at all…and that ain't no lie".

Alas, it appears I lied. I may not own this anymore, after all. Seriously

What's the tackiest piece of Simpsons paraphernalia you've ever owned?
I owned, and still own, "The Simpson's Sing the Blues". While I can't likely recite it to you, I can almost certainly sing along to the entire disc, including such gems as "Springfield Soul Stew" (which I tried to convince a junior high band

Thanks. Looks like some record stores got copies for record store day back in April, so I'm going to check a couple places locally and see if they still have them.

Great Review!
Where can I buy this album? Online sites like Amazon are telling me that it isn't available until June 8. Other sites say limited copies were distributed for Record Store Day, April 17th, almost a month ago. The review (splits the difference and is posted on May 11.

For me…
Always, always, always "Kind of Blue" by Miles.

These are fun
Glad to see them collected in one volume. I own a copy of the first book, have read the other two. They definitely lose steam in the sequels, but as a whole they are among the weirdest things put to paper.

Borrowed an imported UK copy…
…and watched alone at night while the rest of my family was out of town. This is one intense movie, and one that I recommend to anyone who wants to see a scary movie. This review is spot on. I love the original ending.

Seinfeld
Zack, you are not the only person in the world that didn't love Seinfeld. I watched (and still see in syndication) the occasional episode, and while I thought it was funny, it never clicked for me to the point that I'd carve out time in my schedule to watch it.

Thank you AV Club
For letting me in on the fact that Mieville has a new book coming out. And just in time for my birthday, too!

They always cut the songs for length / dance-ability, so the song was probably cut for that reason. Or did you notice some specific lyric being muted out or something?

I'm going to agree with flexmentallo on this one. I'm not reading Deux Ex for the realistic dialog. It's the overall story and the artwork that drive my interest. I love the interplay between the Mayor storyline and the backstory of the Great Machine; I think it has been almost uniformly well-handled.

After watching this movie this Halloween
I have but one thing to say:

This show…
…made my wife say "I like this Nathan Fillion guy. I'd love to go back and watch those Firefly dvds with you some day."
