I didn't look at this as giving Lovecraft short shrift.

I think it was definitely more about Ben than Lisa. He was turning Ben into him and his brother, even when he tried to distance himself.
The episodes relied pretty heavily on the break-up between Alex and Dave. After episode one aired they decided it would be easier to gain traction if the episodes were self-contained, so they moved them to the end of the season.
Grade
This was an A+ episode in jokes and probably a B- in story. I think that balances out well to a solid B+. I really loved it and was so looking forward to the recap and am only now realizing there wasn't actually much substance to it.
Oh no.
Did you just get one night standed by your own son?
Fantastic episode
No idea where its going. So bizarre.
She said it was "dangerously close to Uncle Remus territory". I don't know what Uncle Remus sounds like or even the specifics of who he is but I understand the message and I'm only 21.
TV Club almost always uses a curve of an individual show. An episode of Smallville is graded against other episodes of Smallville, not an episode of Mad Men. And this was a shitty episode of Smallville.
Apologies to MR. Nugent
These comments have not been kind. Personally I liked and agreed with most of the review.
Jimmy Olsen
Was the new Jimmy Olsen the same Ashmore who played the old Jimmy Olsen? Because it would be epic and hilarious if they actually got his twin brother to come in and play the new role.
Comics
"The problem with people who take comic books seriously without a hint of camp or irony is that when it's time to get down to talking about the important things, it turns out that they're idea of fine dramatic writing is pure soap opera."
With Arms Wide Open
I have my money on Creed being out of power before the next episode begins. We open on the hunt for new candidates. Maybe some talking heads about what Creed as a manager was like.
Phil would have been a lot funnier if not for his starving his children. That crossed a weird line.
Eh.
I don't mind (or love) the story of the episode but I would have appreciated it a thousand times more without the voiceover.
I would put Flu Season on par or above Harvest Festival in terms of funniness but Harvest Fest outdid so many of my expectations of what that episode would be and how the story would move forward I just have to put it up there.
Dean Pelton
"What kind of Ice Cream company does this?!"
Finale
I didnt know this was the finale until the last thirty seconds of the episode. Didnt feel like it at all.
I think it started out as part of the joke that her family were weird new age hippies. And then they fell in love.
The season so far:
1. "Media Blitz"
2. "Andy and April's Fancy Party"
3. "Harvest Festival"
4. "Flu Season"
5. "Camping"
6. "Jerry's Painting"
7. "Ron & Tammy: Part Two"
8. "Time Capsule"
9. "Indianapolis"
10. "Soulmates
11. "Go Big or Go Home"
12. "Eagleton"
It was funny…
This episode was funny but probably the weakest of the season, if only because it was mostly filler and excuses to expand the Pawnee universe. That doesn't mean it wasn't my favorite part of this NBC Thursday. Average episode of Parks and Rec > Life.
