1) it's not the first non-cynical, earnest comedy in ten years
2) even if it wasn't, "post-post 9/11" is probably the worst phrase to describe that kind of show, not just because it's fucking stupid, but because seinfeld, which i think is fair to say lead the wave of cynical comedies, came out in the 90s
