The comentary track and bonus scenes on the first one were gold. There's a sequence where Conan is being chased by wolves, but in one of the takes Arnold trips, the wolf overtakes him, and Arnold gets mildly mauled. It's hilarious to watch and even funnier with the commentary.

Also: didn't Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn sort of work this way? As I recall, there was a lot of prophecy, and it wasn't inaccurate per se it just wasn't tremendously useful. I think the story resolved by creating situations in which the people following prophecy eventually came up with other better solutions than what…

I think the problem with that idea is that outside of constant reference to a situation where the thing you are taking apart has some utility it's a tremendously uninteresting narrative. Not because it isn't true, necessarily but because it isn't telling you anything new or interesting.

And a rock! I hear otters love rocks, of both hanging out on and banging on things they like to eat sizes.

I always think of prophecy as a teacher thing. You know, if I just tell people how to write a better sentence they won't actually write a better sentence, they'll just copy me. Except with a more action oriented focus, like if I make this bit of foreknowing too easy to figure out the dang monkeys will try to throw the…

Yeah, it's a sort of "Science!!!" take on evolution, but it might make some sense in terms of Ferenghi specific stuff. Or in terms of the Prophets' own weird perception of things. I mean, what does evolution - or genetic coding - even look like to beings with that perspective?

In Texas anything with the word 'Highland' in it is trying real hard to be super swank.
