I think I speak for all of us when I say that the most we all really hope for is that the writers, and all the folks involved in the direction of the show, care as much about consistency, continuity, and fulfilling answers to Losts compelling mysteries as we the fans do. And why wouldn't they?? It is their life

I prefer "Smuggy" but that's just me.

could it be any more clear? The ISLAND is a CORK.

My grand theory is Locke awakening in the alt-timeline will somehow short circuit fake-locke in the real timeline. Like the two personalities will fight for control over the resurrected (sort of) locke.

alexing - that was the best post on this whole damn site. thanks.

Let us not forget that Jacob himself said a final candidate was coming to the island, number 108, or, "wallace". this person was either desmond or widmore, clearly, so why couldn't desmond be a candidate again? Infact, why couldn't he be "THE CANDIDATE" ? cause if not, he's got a pretty big fucking head start on the

that's the problem right there lone - that exact instance is the clearest example of christian NOT being the smoke monster…both whispers AND water. So, lost writers, why give us an "answer" to the whispers that appears to be immediately retracted by your own logic in the very next episode? Why give us an answer to

that's the thing. at some point you have to stop misdirecting. I'm not sure the writers even know HOW to be honest.

can we please just state, for the record, that those who will be totally disappointed by Losts last moments will probably be, in fact, those that love the show MORE than those who will shrug their shoulders and say "that was fun"? I'm tired of having to pre-apologize and quantify by assuring people that I too have

I dunno Noel. I've been going back and rewatching the episodes in order up till this last one (i've now rewatched the first 5 episodes about 5 times) and all i can say is it is very hard to care about threads that even this late in the game were dropped without fanfare. obviously i won't know till the end, but like

As long as Cindy and the Kids didn't go boom. this is another thread that I personally wouldn't care what the answer was if the writers didn't stick it in our face. Cindy? teddy bear kid? ok, no one cares why she willing joined the others and went to jacks cage and…oh…oh here they are in the temple..well, i guess

See the Walt thing is a perfect example of why people can't argue "Walt? Who cares? Aren't there more important mysteries? wah wah wah?" - the writers MADE us care for this person by causing him to appear / reappear throughout the series. It just seems lame to not address questions you yourself caused us to have

this is the problem lost will always have apparently…anything that is said, explicitly said, can immediately be responded to with "well, he could be lying" or "i don't believe him". And rightfully so! I just wish we had, this close to the end, a single real, resolute, meaty answer and not half-truths,

i've already commented on it once, but this is the first mythology answer that's really got me very nervous and a bit angry (if it turns out to be true). We JUST got the explanation that the whispers = non-smokey dead people. We hear the whispers in association with Christian who is on the freighter (also, across

Everyone seems to be ignoring the most obvious incongruity. Just last episode we had a VERY on-the-nose explanation that the whispers are the Island dead (NOT smokey) manifesting themselves. We hear those whispers moments before Christian appears to, who else, Michael on the freighter. Why would the writers force

surely i'm not the only one trolling Lostpedia reading all the Whispers transcripts….and feeling pretty let down. I mean - they are obviously groups of people "whispering" to each other talking about "hope he doesn't see us" or "should we kill him? SHH! be quite". Its clearly the others, or at least clearly not

He seemed to have dark hair.

@air raid - i swear we found out that Desmond was lying to charlie just to like…get him to go kill himself or something..right?

uhhhhh……. isn't that EXACTLY what the whispers explain? considering you here them exactly before he appears to michael on the freighter?

Haha…i actually like the sound generator theory. Lost giving us the Scooby Doo ending would be, in fact, superior to the mega-happy ending.
