i enjoy the mess, though, and i like that they show her lack of awareness. i definitely prefer it over her turning into a civil rights expert, as is wont to happen in these storytelling situations.

i'd say that the first season showed her naivete to the audience, while this season is highlighting her own growing awareness of how naive she is and trying to deal with it while really only ( and still barely)…
