and yet Arcade Fire is a stadium-filling band at this point.  They are most definitely enormously popular.  I think the Grammy backlash thing is more to be blamed on, as Hipster Dbag says, the only people that actually give a fuck about the grammies are pop music fans.

yeah, and also, unlike Mumford… that Foster the People Song is actually, you know, good.

completely never heard of him either.

I would rather listen to either of those songs over "Uptown Girl" any day.

practically every rapper in the universe has name dropped Mick Jagger.  And they almost always rhyme it with swagger.

what makes that whole segment work so well is the way he pronounces "Bowie"

yeah i thought he was gonna go into comedown philosopher mode and talk the family through their problems.  That might have actually been sort of cool, but as it is… yeah this was an extremely half-assed episode.

i have no idea who John K was and I thought it was pretty cool.

yeah so far both the episodes have been solid B's.  Looks like Simpsons might hopefully be on a bit of an upswing from last season.  And I didn't think last week's episode was aggresively stupid, though the review was.  This recap was much better.

i guess a lot of it depends on where you're at but teacher salaries are actually pretty good, especially considering they only work 9 months out of the year.  Plus yearly raises.  Sounds pretty sweet to me.

maybe next time bring a book?  you don't actually have to watch whatever they're showing.

yeah or at least he doesn't have to write articles about people's "baby bumps" or whatever.  Seriously, I have more respect for prostitutes than the people who write that TMZ type shit.  At least prostitutes are fulfilling a need.

yes i think it's easily that expensive especially if you get Premium channels like HBO. Like JMP said, it's just not worth it, unless you have roommates to split it with or you are making baller money.  I can just wait until the shows i wanna see come out on DVD thank you very much.  Still planning on catching up with

Fuck all the haters.  DM's lyrics were fine for what they were.

i'm assuming none of y'all are including the shitty "secret song."  Good God, that was a horrible early-90's trend that died out none too soon.  Seriously, who thought that was a good idea?

because it's on cable.  Seriously, how much of the population has Cable, much less pay networks like HBO and Showtime.  Network TV is always gonna win even if its shitty because its free.

i was curious about why the AV Club Austin shut down while at the same time it's expanding to all these podunk towns like Fort Collins and Omaha.  You would think Austin would be a good city for it, but then out of nowhere it just shut down.  Maybe nobody else was reading it, but dammit, I liked it!  I did my part!

I didn't pick up on the Little Shop of Horrors thing at all.  I thought for sure it was supposed to be a "Trapped in the Closet" parody?  Was I the only one who thought this?

people who don't feel like getting up or changing the channel in between The Simpsons and Family Guy I would assume.

i'm not sure what sort of crazy cable package you have that doesn't include reality television, Fox News, religious channels, Telemundo, shopping channels, Bloomberg, OWN, soap operas etc…
