I don't know… I don't think he's quite displayed the potentially incredible creepiness he could have with this role. There are moments every now and again, but he seems more genial with an occasionally sinister side, rather than the other way round. I've not really felt that the 'considerable malevolence'…

I've watched a few early episodes, and didn't really get why it was so well received, but I have friends who have encouraged me to look at the later seasons. They say that it really hits its stride.
