Yeah, anyone seen it? I feel like I remember it getting fairly mediocre reviews a while back, but I might be wrong - and Earthsea + Studio Ghibli sounds like an awesome combination

Oh, and it also can't hurt that it would look bad to cancel their most-watched show. The fact that this is the most-watched show on the network that has Community, Parks and Rec, Parenthood, 30 Rock, and Chuck is pretty damn depressing.

Ratings Discussion
I share Todd's annoyance with the way the ratings system currently plays out. The focus on 18-49 doesn't concern me too much because, as Todd said, it ends up benefiting some shows (and I happen to watch some of them), but that doesn't excuse the fact that it's pretty dumb. I've always thought of

I dunno, the ratings for The Cape were really awful, so that would be some feat. But this is NBC, so anything (terrible) is possible.

Starfucker? I barely even know 'er!

I think mine is Document, followed closely by Murmur and Automatic for the People. I also have a soft spot for Monster - probably because it was the first one I heard and I played it to death when I was growing up.

I still have so many B:TAS action figures from growing up - honestly, that's probably the reason that I never got into the actual comics, because the show and playing with the action figures provided so much fun.

This generation's Superman 64
I have pretty much nothing to say, except that Superman 64 is hilariously awful. Would watching other people try to play this be funny, or just annoying?

…The gay community wants equal rights. Equal Rites is a book by Terry Pratchett. Terry Pratchett wrote another book with Neil Gaiman. Oh my god. They aren't just furthering the agenda; the AV Club is a gay man!

I'll second the love for "Imperial Life in the Emerald City," which is absolutely nothing like the movie, but is a really compelling and interesting read. The myriad ways that the U.S. bureaucracy in Iraq fucked up makes for a pretty great book.

To be fair, playing "Duel of the Fates" over any scene is bound to make it at least a little awesome.

Just in case anyone didn't already know/had any interest in knowing, Plinkett's review of Episode III went up at www.redlettermedia.com sometime in February. And it's hilarious.

You know what's another good way to incite nerd rage? Arguing over the merits of Wheel of Time vs. ASOIAF.

No, no, I think in this one Evelyn Mulwray is his mother and his niece. Or something. What?

Gugino truly was awful in Watchmen, like really fucking terrible. Like, I was honestly pretty understanding of why someone would want to violently rape her. Too far?

This totally makes sense, because now we can finally see the resolution to that cliffhanger ending with Edward James Olmos' origami - they were practically begging for a sequel! And there's so much room to improve on the original - all those boring stretches where nobody's yelling or blowing up or having sex can be

But can we talk about how much that Gawker redesign sucks? Because it's pretty monumental in it's sucking. The tweaks they've made to it since have improved things marginally, but it still sucks hard.

Hmm that's interesting - are people just retarded, or too lazy to fast forward, or do they honestly enjoy watching ads? I mean, I'll occasionally forget that I'm not watching live for a commercial break or two, but that just doesn't make sense.
