The World's Best Boss video linked from the speech video has been a particular joy today too. For one thing it apes the Anderson style really well, and for another it makes baseball look really exciting.

At £72 a ticket I'm hoping for a pretty fucking great light show.

The 2nd and 3rd times I saw them, I did think that maybe you can't recapture that joy and excitement, but last week I saw them for the 4th time at Primavera in Porto, it was a beautiful day, my friends were having a great time, the crowd was delightful, and they've finally started mixing the setlist up (most…

That's a fair point about Howie being out of step even with his peers, I hadn't thought about that before actually. (Incidentally, snippets of the Luke reading are inserted into the theatrical version, intercut I think with him getting ready for bed on the first night. So, there's a wee bit of his religious…

The director's cut is a mixed-bag for me. My main problem is that the opening 10 minutes with him on the mainland really gives too much away too early. I think the film is a lot more mysterious if we don't know right off the bat what a devout Christian Howie is. Instead, we learn what he's about a lot more…

That bizarre TV version does end up with a big laugh in the absence of the bees sequence, though. When they pounce on him, it dissolves to them carrying him to the wicker man or whatever it is now, with some audio of them capturing him playing over the pictures, in which Cage describes, blow by blow, what they're…

Not being from North America, it's been very interesting over the last couple of years to learn of the native perspective on Chappelle's show. I was introduced to the show on DVD about four or five years ago, and was only told last year by an American fellow how inescapable the catchphrases etc had been over there…

"his scenes with Alonso should dominate any proper showreel of crazy Nicolas Cage performances."

It's worth noting that Yauch produced Tell Them Anything You Want, too.
Marr, or folks who feel the same way as him, might appreciate Belle and Sebastian's current live set-up, since they've developed a lot of 'muscle' in the last 10 years or so, and they're extremely punchy now. They've said that the way they're playing these days is the way they always intended it to come out, and that…
Although I can't deny it's an impressive thing to watch, and compulsive viewing, I do also think that this film is pretty disgusting. There are some corners and hills that guaranteed zero safety for any pedestrians or vehicles, it's a terrifying thought.
