I've lived just a couple blocks from that spot for about four years now and my wife and I are convinced that it's cursed. That place was originally called Nick's Off Market before they changed the name to Eet Bar (which actually had some good filipino food but was doomed by the worst restaurant name in the

I feel like #OldManCranking is a hashtag you do not want to accidentally click on.

I just read a really interesting book by Steven Hyden about music rivalries called "Your Favorite Band is Kiling Me." If you like thinking about these kinds of comparisons and the deeper meanings behind arguments people have about Beatles vs. Stones, Lennon vs. McCartney, Kanye vs. Taylor, Prince vs. Michael, etc then

I went to that Beck/Dashboard Confessional/Black Keys tour as well! I remember it was at an amphitheater in Western WA and at the time I was interested to see Dashboard Confessional was an opener, but they had left the tour for some reason before they made it to the West Coast.

On last week's episode of Keepin It 1600 (The Ringer/Channel 33's political podcast) they had former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett on as a guest to talk about the White House Correspondent's Dinner and the process of writing jokes for the president.

I hate that you can't sort your Netflix List/Queue by different attributes for quicker browsing. The most obviously helpful one would be running time. You really should be able to quickly sort all the films you've queued by length, so if you only have enough time to watch a short movie all of the sub-90 minute content

Albuquerque, please.

The Nerves - One Way Ticket

No Ex Machina? No Room? Along with Mad Max, those were my two favorite films of 2015. I'm not saying the AV Club messed up, buuuuut… the AV Club messed up.

I rarely watch movies that are widely panned, so I don't have much to offer this conversation but I will say one of my least favorite movies of 2015 was Results. I realize I'm absolutely in the minority on that opinion (especially with hipsters and/or film critics), but I thought it was such a letdown. Solid cast and

Since we're all sharing our lists, mine would probably look something like this:

My recommendations for 2015 albums you might like:

If you like film podcasts, The Film Vault is a pretty funny/fun one to get into. I've heard about a ton of movies from TFV and I really enjoy it.

As someone who only watched the first couple episodes of season 1 and lost interest, is it worth getting back into this show? I've heard they kind of refocused the show and things are much better this season, but the idea of slogging through season 1 isn't that appealing.

Anyone else feel like Dorothy constantly scribbling in her notebook throughout the episode means she is using Edgar (and everyone else) to get improv/sketch material? I really hope that isn't how their relationship ends because I love Edgar and he's been through a lot, but something tells me Dorothy may eventually be

I agree. I mentioned this in another comment but I think the way she was constantly scribbling in her notebook throughout the episode means she is using Edgar to get material.

This x1000. I have aggressively championed so many shows to my friends (The Americans, Black Mirror, Review, Fargo, etc.) and I generally can always convince a lot of people to get on board. For some reason, I can't convince ANYONE to check out You're The Worst. It bums me out, and if it gets canceled due to low

I would highly recommend Everlane. They make great clothing and much of it is manufactured here in America. Regardless, they are pretty transparent about their process and the factories they use that aren't Los Angeles-based. I've really loved everything I've gotten from them.

The weirdest thing is that the three artists it says I "discovered" aren't even bands I actually like or have even listened to more than once. Two have since become hip/popular but I could personally take them or leave them (Jhene Aiko and The 1975) and the third one I don't even really have any recollection of

I saw The Black Keys open for Beck in 2003. I had gotten into them earlier that year but it seemed like I was one of the only people in the entire venue (about 30% full) who was really enjoying their set.
