MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
And Review!
I like The Knick, but my pick is Banshee.
If the Hawks win, they'll continue the trade-off of Stanley Cups, so I guess it would be LA's turn again next year.
1) The Wars to Come: B+
2) The House of Black and White: B
3) High Sparrow: B
4) Sons of the Harpy: A-
5) Kill the Boy: B
6) Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken: C
7) The Gift: C+
8) Hardhome: A
9) The Dance of Dragons: B
10) Mother's Mercy: B
Catherine's been a highlight of the show for me since the beginning, so it was nice to see her in more of a regular supporting role this season.
I really love both shows, but Hannibal has the edge for me. And Rectify should also be one of the choices.
DEADWOOD "Advances, None Miraculous" Review (2x10)
“Day saw advances, Trixie. None miraculous.”
Kacey Rohl is fantastic and I always love seeing her in the show, but I still like the choice of her being a hallucination better than her being able to survive that (I feel like she is Will in a way, at least the part of him who wants to go to that "other world" with Hannibal and have a big happy family…I'd watch…
The amount of fun interactions you were able to have with her is impressive. I would probably just end up babbling, then keel over and explode into a fiery mess. Also, everything I've been hearing about her confirms that Jessica Chastain is the best.
DEADWOOD "Amalgamation and Capital" Review (2x09)
“Are not all of us, Mr. Blazanov, tethered in some sense to our labors? And at some point in our lives, is not acceptance of that tethering a discovery of a path to joy?”
The show as a whole. I wish that could be the number for just one episode, though.
DEADWOOD "Childish Things" Review (2x08)
OTHER THOUGHTS:
DEADWOOD "E.B. Was Left Out" Review (2x07)
I loved the exchange where she asked if he was going to keep answering in one-word answers, and he responded with "No", then added on "….I am not".
After Hannibal asked "May I get dressed?", I was hoping Bedelia would respond with an emphatic "NO".
DEADWOOD "Something Very Expensive" Review (2x06)
“Oughtn’t you–or anyone urging such connections as disqualifying you–think of the good of the camp? We all have…complicating obligations.”
Yeah, I've actually been doing them for over a year now (the reviews used to be a lot better, I'm getting lazy now). There's no set schedule, though; I've just been using WOT to post whenever I write a new one. Did/doing the same for Friday Night Lights, Veronica Mars, and Deadwood.
