Film list is not done yet, but here are some TV things:

How the hell is Empire doing so well? 4.7 this week, and it's been steadily increasing over time. This is FOX we're talking about.

That tooth-pulling scene was amazing, as was the entire car chase sequence, but I think my favorite moment of the episode was Philip and Elizabeth hugging each other as the Star Spangled Banner played in the background. Lovely moment that was lit and acted and directed beautifully, and it was a wonderful encapsulation

Loved the directing in that scene, especially the choice to focus on the eyes. Definitely a very intimate moment, and Rhys and Russell were once again phenomenal.

The main question here is: why haven't we seen the Olyphant Ass Shot yet?

I get the sense that his tastes lie in the Raylan department. He will act on those desires at some point before the series is over.

So is Katherine Hale. Her scenes with Ava throughout this one were incredibly tense, and Alasdair did a good job above of explaining why her character is so great. And speaking of Ava, Joelle Carter continues to knock it out of the park, especially with that final scene.

STILL ALICE
Still Alice is, without a doubt, a very moving film, but what’s nice about it is its ability to deliver a story without relying too much on histrionics. It hits all the emotional beats we expect it to hit, but it also does so with more care than we might expect. Now, the movie certainly does have an

VERONICA MARS Season 2…
EPISODE 6: “RAT SAW GOD”

Better Call Saul pilot: Meh. I expect it will be a show that I will find consistently entertaining with great performances and visuals, but it will also be one that I won't really look forward to each week and will forget about right after it finishes.

I thought this episode was great. My favorite moment was probably the Fiona-Lip scene, one that was fun and sweet and heavy and meaningful all at once. Anytime the two are together, you can guarantee it'll be a great scene. That final moment between Ian and Mickey was wonderful as well.

I really wish I remembered enough about these episodes to talk about them, but I'm glad you guys are watching. Chuck is just one of those shows that will always make me happy, and all of season 2 really is amazing.

Inarritu won the DGA, and it's looking like Birdman is probably going to win Best Picture at the Oscars.

Agree with you on all this. Also, another thing the show isn't really known for is its acting, but it has been consistently good, and this week turned it up a notch with Antony Starr and Trieste Kelly Dunn. In particular for Starr, that sobbing at the end over Siobhan's body was very effective and well done by him,

Chayton: On second thought, I actually really like you guys!
Hood: Oh, nice!

Yeah, that was a great scene for Elliott and Goggins. This cast is damn talented.

Loved Duffy's "When you search Crowder, make sure to get his cigarettes."

"Understand me, Earl? I'm gonna shoot your dick off."

"I'll never be able to menstruate."

Marshawn Lynch asked if he's surprised he didn't get the football. Says "No." I ask him, Why not? Says, "Because football is a team sport."
