DEADWOOD "Deep Water" Review (1x02)
“I see as much misery outta them movin’ to justify themselves as them that set out to do harm.”

It is the first time.

Other Thoughts
-I doubt I will be able to cover each episode individually, but we’ll see. My plan for now is two episodes each review, but that may change if I have more or less to say. I probably don’t want to make every review 1500 words like this one is. Anyway, I have never seen this series before, and I’m excited.

Deadwood "Deadwood" Review (1x01)
“If he has to hang tonight, Sol, it’s going to be under color of law.”

True. The hospital stuff has been dragging, although it certainly is a slight improvement that the Terminus storyline was finished after three episodes. I expected that to take at least half a season.

I finally caught up on The Walking Dead, and I'm kind of surprised at the praise this season has been getting so far. Yeah, it's nice that the show isn't dragging out its storylines anymore, but the storylines themselves are still uninteresting to me. Still the same dull dialogue and characters.

THE BABADOOK

I'm not the biggest fan of horror movies these days, but there's no denying that these movies are much more effective when the horror is a result of the psychological rather than simply the supernatural (or just some random guy in a mask who's holding a big knife). This is a truly frightening, sad, and original movie,

Yeah, there's one more on December 16th: "The Cold War", then nothing else till January. Similar scheduling as last year, and last year's scheduling was really strange in the second half of the season.

Yeah, it must have been tough to wait if you were watching as it aired. I also heard that around the time, the cast and crew were pretty great when it came to hiding things from the audience, like Starbuck's return; they pretty much lied during interviews about her death, and the cast members didn't even know for a

Battlestar Galactica, Season 3 Episodes 19 and 20: "Crossroads, Parts 1 and 2"

That was a really fucking intense episode of TV. Those last 15 minutes…man, if that's not good TV, I don't know what is. You guys, this show is really, really good again, and I'm so glad to be excited for every episode. Also, it's not just the spy thriller set pieces that are compelling; the central themes being

Justified on Tuesday, January 20.
Archer on Thursday, January 8.
The Americans on Wednesday, January 28.
Sunny on Wednesday, January 14.

I don't understand JC Chandor or Tim Burton. You get Chastain and Adams, respectively, and then you put them in blonde wigs. That is inexcusable.

I definitely need to check out A Most Wanted Man at some point. Right now, Gyllenhaal is neck and neck with JK Simmons for my favorite performance of the year.

SPOILER SPACE
-Television is closer to reality for Lou than actual reality. That’s explained by his “It looks so real on TV” after seeing the city backdrop up close and personal (great shot of him and Nina in front of it, as well), as well as his reactions to watching his own footage.
