I also really loved the Janet-Ted Jr. scene, in which she helps patch up the injured hand and he tells her about the miscarriage. We haven't seen many scenes like this; usually, it's been Janet-Daniel, which have been great, but this is also a reminder of who also became a part of her family when she married Ted Sr.

What's so great about this episode, and the show in general, is its ability to give us all viewpoints in a thoughtful, compelling way. No one is really right here, but at the same time, everyone is. We can see why Amantha would call Daniel a coward, why the suggestion to just change her name seems so surface level,

Agreed! Thanks to this fantastic comment section as well. It hasn't been a huge one, but each person here seems to be very passionate about this show. It's led to engaging discussions, all of which I've enjoyed reading. See you all next year for season 3.

BSG: RAZOR

Veronica Mars, Season 1…
JESSICA CHASTAIN JESSICA CHASTAIN JESSICA CHASTAIN

A happy—40th?!—birthday goes out to Amy Adams, one of the most talented actresses out there and a very pretty lady (she and Jessica Chastain need to be in a movie together). She's entirely deserving of all the Academy Awards she hasn't won yet.

I liked the contrast between the two guys, Chaffino and Mark. One convinces himself from the start that the plan is BS and doesn't change his mind about it after he sees (albeit flimsy) results, while the other one attempts to convince himself that the plan is good, only backing out after seeing it all go down.

I loved him taking care to note that the popcorn sharing was "premeditated".

Simon's matter-of-fact delivery of that monologue made it even funnier. And then later, the look he had after "I'd like to massage the breasts…and rock them" was a combination of "What the fuck am I saying?" and "I like that image…"

"Hi, I'm Mark, and I'm an idiot businessman with a small dick."

Veronica Mars, Season 1….
Episode 4: “The Wrath of Con”

Veronica Mars, Season 1…
EPISODE 2: “Credit Where Credit’s Due”

"Cured" implies no widespread death, so I'm not sure how much I like your suggestion.

I would think her giving birth to Stupidity would be more accurate, but I guess Death works as well.

My hope for next week:

Thanks, MLA!

Oh yes, that arc is amazing. What comes after is…less so, but that was some thrilling, compelling TV. I just finished season 2, and that's still the high point for me.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

Veronica Mars "Pilot" review (1x01)
“Veronica Mars, she’s a marshmallow.”

I put together an imgur album that really shows you how good the camera work for this show is. The first one is of "Act As If", and the next three are of this episode. Notice how open and hopeful one seems, and how the next three create a tense, closed off feel.
