The Americans is still one of my all-time favorite series, but this season has been less engaging to me so far than previous seasons. The writing, with respect to both the plot and the dialogue, seems to be at a slightly lower level than its previously stratospheric highs. Perhaps it is the lack of tense spy action.

I have loved reading this column, but recent entries have been rather depressing. Going from geeking out about Aliens and Terminator 2 to trudging through Speed and The Rock has been disheartening. This is through no fault of the author, of course. I just miss my Ahnuld.

I would need to refresh my memory on the conflict between Elliot and his Mr. Robot persona. Early on, I recall Mr. Robot wanting to blow up a plant next to the data center, and Elliot did not want to kill anyone.

I really enjoyed this series. The themes and plot were fairly derivative, but everything was executed so damn well. I eagerly look forward to Season 2.

I love this show, but I am concerned about Paige's arc. Now that she has spilled the beans, I do not see how the series lasts past next season. Yet, the showrunners have stated they think they have at least five seasons of material, possibly more.

Have any Veep fans seen The Thick of It? If so, how do you think they compare? I saw In the Loop in the theater and loved it, so I really should have tracked down The Thick of It years ago. I will get to it eventually. It's disappointing that Netflix does not have the DVDs.

I guess we need to wait until the Episode 13 recap is posted.

Have you finished the series yet? I have, and I have a theory about the money. It doesn't explain everything though.

I did not care for this movie at all. I agree completely with your statement about diminishing returns and the absurd finale. I did not find it to be scary in the slightest. The reviews I read praised its inventiveness, so I kept expecting the film to do more with the premise than it did. As it was, the plot was

I was about to post something similar until I saw this. Thanks. Yeah, I had no idea how Boyd thought his scheme would work, and that bothers me. It is the type of lazy writing that hurt last season. That said, this season has been a huge treat overall. It is the best since Season 2, I reckon.

First off, I am enjoying this season much more than the previous season. Justified is once again one of my favorite shows on the air. That said, I am not sure if the plotting still needs some tightening, I am being impatient, or I am not getting what should be obvious.

In Bright Lights, Big City (1988), Michael J. Fox works as a fact-checker for a magazine in NYC.

OK, thanks for the replies. The Americans is turning out to be my favorite current series, especially after Justified's recent subpar season.

Can someone please provide a refresher on Larrick? Was he being blackmailed by the Russians because of his homosexuality, so he was providing intelligence to them against his will? Our favorite Russian spies contacted him because they thought he might be behind the death of their friends, but they kept him around in

In grade school, two of my favorite books were The Hobbit and
D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths, and they set the stage for my interest
in the fantasy genre. During this time, I was also into monster movies.
Three of my faves at the time were:
