    I wonder if it is time to adjust the format of SNL to something more like its original structure. This group of writers and performers seem unable to grasp the concept of sketch comedy, so why not move away from sketches and do more prerecorded segments (commercial parody, music video, etc.), and even add some

    I went to the David Bowie Is exhibit when it was at the MCA in Chicago. To experience the scope of his output in such a condensed environment was as overwhelming as it was inspirational. I think what I admire most about Bowie was his ability to imagine on such a large scale as to almost be impossible to achieve and

    Great story-telling, beautifully filmed. The opening montage last night was an amazing piece of work.

    The show ended for me when Joel left.

    1979="Kiss my grits!"
    1989="Eat my shorts!"
    1999=?
    2015=?

    "Kiss my grits!" Excellent.

    yes

    I had a cassette with dubs of Let's Get Small on one side and Comedy Is Not Pretty on the other. I played that tape until it turned to dust.

    One show. Goodbye.

    Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    Is this the equivalent of firing the coach when your team has no talent and is in last place?

    I'm thankful for the commercial breaks. Otherwise I might not have taken a breath for 90 minutes.

    Aaron Sorkin.

    Overall I am very impressed with the first week. I think we are in for a great ride as this show evolves. Two things that bother me about the show right now:

    It is inexcusable that the Letterman finale montage did not win for best editing.

    Shouldn't this be illegal or something?

    Hanks did a great Elvis impersonation.

    I know what you mean, but I think part of that was due to the Sullivan Theater being so much larger to begin with. It was much less intimate. Also the advent of HD mean that much more attention had to be paid to small details. Plus, they just had more money to spend on the set and graphics, etc.

    STOP BENDIN' THE SHAFTS!!

    From the very beginning, this show was about Don's internal struggles and the search for the perfect tag line. In the end, this was what we were left with. What a great way to end a series that could have ended many ways and still have been satisfying.
