@avclub-c5fe25896e49ddfe996db7508cf00534:disqus If you think Parks and Recreation is "cringe humor" I don't see how you've ever made it through an entire episode of Arrested Development.

Called it:
I got DC Cab on laserdisc for 50 cents at a thrift store. I've never seen it, but Mr T holding up a cab door looks great on my wall.
Most tv shows about high school would be content to make an evil bully character just be an evil bully. The way they flesh out Alan as an awkward loser in his own right, with his own pains and humiliations is just brilliant. Reminds me of Fassbinder (who Paul Feig has said was an influence on the show).
Seems like a precursor to J. Walter Weatherman.
I own this:
Yes, that would definitely put that ep in my top 5. The whole subplot with Alan is just incredible and Lindsey's "marijuana freakout" is shockingly similar to my own experience at the age of 15.
"but F&G wasn't as good as we remember it"
It's been going on for months. Months!
I want to know who Chris Diamantopoulos is sleeping with that he keeps getting cushy roles on much hyped productions (a major arc in the final season of The Office, prominent guest roles in season 4 of both Community and Arrested Development) despite a relative lack of charisma or comedic talent.
Franklin and Tobias = definitely an Arrested Development reference, right?
I heard it was 2 swords.
Mmm, gay sex chips…
Exactly. It's not like there weren't any number of horrific atrocities happening in eastern Europe (or whatever undetermined place Hannibal from this show is from) in the 1960s/1970s (or whenever Hannibal on this show was supposed to be an adolescent).
UPDATE: Netflix has decided to cancel the newest season of Arrested Development due to waning viewer interest. It will not be available streaming though their site, but they do have plans to release Season 4 on DVD, release date TBD.
AD is so densely packed with jokes, multiple viewings are truly essential. Even after going through the whole series a dozen times, I still pick up on new jokes on rewatch.
They should have thrown in a Terriers notification just for good measure.
I'm seeing colors I don't want to see!
Pine Barrens is the most famous episode of the series? I thought any time casual viewers refer to an episode of the show, it's always "the one where Tony takes his daughter to look at colleges."
Totally agree with this.
