I actually didn't know until a couple weeks ago that TV shows still used laugh tracks.  It just happened that all the shows I watched didn't employ them (admittedly, that's a small sample size).  A friend recommended I try another show and when the laugh track started at first I thought it was some sort of meta-joke.

I'm not really a fan of Tosh.o (though I agree with others - his stand-up is better, if not great in my opinion).  But I do love those name checks because then I go look up old shows and get nostalgic.
